Buddy, do you hear the stupid thoughts in your head before you type them out on the keyboard? What does being a cop have to do with incest? What, 1 cop performs incest on a relative, and all of a sudden all cops are banging their brothers and sisters now?

No one is defending the incest/sexual assault bit - that's without a doubt some downright messed up stuff. But to use that as fodder to attack a whole department? You stupid ass kids are reaching. You'll use whatever's necessary to fuel your angst against the cops.

I want to know what caused you guys to hate the cops so much. Did they touch you inappropriately during a traffic stop, huh? Or is it sour grapes because the po-po didn't like your stupid PnP HID kit blinding all the drivers on the road, and decided to ticket you over it? Or maybe it's because your favorite rapper doesn't like the police. "Yea, Cam'ron don't like the cops, so neither will I dur dur duuuuuuuuuuuuuur".

My god, there are some god-damn stupid people on RS.

And BTW, there's only been 1 reported case of an officer being suspended for these allegations. Get your facts straight, it's not "cops", it's 1 cop.

Sid Vicious 08-18-2009 05:28 PM

It seems like the people who are blindly defending the cops are just as misguided as the fuck the police types
The major problem when an RCMP officer commits a crime is that is investigated by the RCMP...and I quote from Macleans

Lawyers shouldn’t represent themselves. Doctors shouldn’t treat themselves. Now RCMP complaints commissioner Paul Kennedy rightly says Mounties shouldn’t investigate themselves. In a report issued Tuesday, Kennedy says investigations of fellow Mounties are “flawed and inconsistent.” Among the problems: lead investigators knowing members under investigation; members of lower or equal rank investigating fellow officers; the RCMP’s failure to track internal cases, or their outcomes. The force, says Kennedy, “has no understanding of what the scope of the problem actually is.” The airport tasering and death of Robert Dziekanski and the in-custody shooting of Ian Bush, both in B.C., are two RCMP self-investigations that raised serious public doubts. RCMP brass should embrace Kennedy’s recommendation that arm’s-length bodies investigate serious internal cases. The force’s credibility is at stake.

And on the same note, how well do you think it will go over for a Muslim's actions to be judged by Christian standards and vise-versa, Westerners idealism under scrutinization by Eastern idealistic standards, and vise versa? One nationality's culture under criticism by the standard's of another nationality's culture?

Considering the extraordinary nature of their profession and the extremities of their environment they're subjected to, how much merit do you think being judged by your average public yields? And by average public I mean individuals who spend their days working in offices, restaurants, warehouses or any other controlled environments. People who's majority of public dealings are with individuals of the same social standing. People who's most daily life threatening risk is the commute between work & home.

I get your point, but although it's ideal, is more counter-productive than it really is productive.

I have no interest in how cops are investigated for the crimes they are said to have committed. I am not debating that issue at all. I am interested in why there are so many misguided, stupid (yes, dna82, they are in fact stupid) kids on RS who like to take whatever small morsel of news related to a cop and go off on a spiel about how the whole department is corrupt, how every cop is dirty, this and that - wild allegations everywhere blanketing the whole force like they're worse than the Mexican police.

I don't feel strongly 1 way or the other for the police, I believe in arguments backed by facts. Instead of cops, we could be talking about fireman, or construction workers, or whatever the subject may be. Arguments made by stupid kids who pull BS out of the air, regardless of what they subject may be, and beating the dead horse whatever chance they get, is frankly the most irritating thing I've seen on this forum.

Give me a break. dna82, you can call me a hypocrite or whatever you feel like, the fact remains you know there are stupid kids on this site that need to be taught a lesson in reasoning. I don't know what happened in their lives, but many people here seem to lack the mental capacity required to separate facts from their emotions. So sorry to have to be the person to point and criticise their poor arguments, but I for one don't believe RS should be tolerating nor promoting the moronic posts of stupid people. If you believe you are a person that I have just described, put your pride aside and take on the responsibility of self-improvement by first examining your own beliefs. OR, you can stay stupid, believe everybody is wrong except you, and continue to look like an idiot on not only this forum, but most likely in life as well.

Was it a parody? I cannot tell, since I cannot hear the tone in your voice, see the expression on your face, or notice your hand movements. Please excuse me if I have taken your post too seriously, I can only intepret your words.

You seem to fancy yourself an intelligent guy, maybe YOU should read MY post again and see where I called you anything close to a cop-hating gangster. I spoke in general about the stupid kids on this site. Trust me, from how candid I have been in this thread thus far, do you think I would hesitate to call you what I thought?

edit: I noticed your edit. Personally, I think your parody was poorly timed and distracted from the discussion. Just quit it.

I agree with this point.

I'm not pro-police but I'm anti-ignorant asshole. My point is that cops shouldn't all be painted with the same brush when one does something wrong. The ratio of good, quality police officers in Canada far outweighs the bad ones.

i put two different qoutes side by side using the almost exact wording but changing a few words to juxtaposition the two varying points. but hey, i guess some people just don't get it. parody, by the way, doesn't require a expression, subtle hand movements, or tones of voice. if you hadn't raged at the start you would've noticed it.

i don't fancy myself at all actually. okay here we go again, this time i'll use a even BOLDER and LARGER font to point out obvious things.

I guess I don't apply for the 'general people' catagory and fall into the 'everybody but the general people' catagory.

so does that mean i'm not a cop hater? I don't listen to cam'ron and my car doesn't have PnP HID's? above all, so i'm not stupid either right?

perhaps bigger fonts and bolder texts would fair better.....

iEatClams 08-19-2009 02:56 AM

This thread is fucking hilarious.

There are cop-haters on RS that are just dumb and will hate on the RCMP for anything.

But what's funnier are the cop nut-huggers that try and defend them for everything.

First off, not everyone on RS is a 'highschool, ed hardy wearing, pump my rap music really loud while driving' cop-hater.

A lot of us are actual professionals with a formal education. A lot of my friends are successful business owners, teachers, professors, dentists and stuff, and most of us think the RCMP Blows. Do we hate cops? NO.
But are we entitled to our own opinion where we believe that the RCMP is sucking right now and can do a lot better job? Yes.

We need cops, we need them to uphold the law. Cops are generally good people.
But the RCMP needs to make changes in order to improve, but they won't because they're too fucking stubborn.

I've met a lot of police officers out of uniform which I respected at BBQs, partys, get-togthers. The one I respected the most was this one guy that had a Business Degree at U of T and then joined the force and is now working in a division that deals with insider trading, securities fraud etc. This same guy even says that one of the problem is that the RCMP is too oldschool and they also have problems recruiting good talent.

I've also met a lot of other officers who I thought " how the fuck did you get into the RCMP?, It's scary to think that people like you are in a position of power"

There was this one guy in highschool who everbody thought was the biggest douchebag, yet he somehow joined the force.

But overall, I'm pretty satisfied with the RCMP we have here in Canada. We have probably the best ethics compared to any other country in the world and relatively low corruption. My only beef is that I think we can do better if we just weed out more of the bad apples by firing more officers (for more serious offences) instead of suspending them WITH PAY.

humans fuck up. They are no different then any of you, it wasnt the cop in him that fucked his sister, it was the human in him. He probably didnt nail her in his uniform on the clock.

The article said he did this sometime between Julyt 31 and Aug 2 when they had the police/firemen games.

Supposedly, they got really drunk, and he did his sister when she was passed out.

Gotta love RCMP nuthuggers....

Just because you hear of one incident once in a while in the newspapers, doesn't mean shit doesn't happen on a daily basis. It's just that once in a while they do get caught red handed, and that's when you hear about it.

silk 08-19-2009 10:26 AM

cop = gang
one is bright and one is dark
one is protected by the law and one is not..
they both get paid with risk at work
and they both douches that most of the ordinary people try to stay away from

The same way you don't hear anything about when they save a life.. which is every single day.

Look, I don't like cops my self to be honest. I hate it when they follow me, tailgate me , whatever. But I'm not some keyboard rebel that hates them either.

For those of you saying 'RCPM nut huggers' you're delusional. No one here is defending the police officer.
We're only trying to stop the stereotypes about the police. Nothing to do with the PO in question.

If you have nothing clever to say other than RCPM Nut-hugger , this conversation is not for you, as you cannot comprehend what we're trying to say.

Again that message is: We are not defending the suspect, we're defending the profession as a whole from idiots like your selves.
Again, as I've said before, crucify him all you want, no one gives a fuck. I don't , those siding with me don't , we're just trying to make you understand that your logic is retarded at best. We're right, you're wrong.

And lastly , whoever said that he hates it that the cop is on paid leave..
you ought to get really upset when you learn that you live in a democracy where you're innocent until proven guilty. How would you compensate the monetary loss to him if he's proven to be innocent? That is why he's on paid leave, so that the investigation may go on and he is right now not guilty of anything. The same rule applies to everyone, no matter what their profession.

You guys who keep claiming the cops are corrupt/evil/the devil/etc (OK, no one called the cops "evil" or "the devil", but i'm sure someone is going to use that against me to further derail the topic) wouldn't sound like morons if you provided some reasoning behind your arguments and allegations.

I don't know how many times I've asked those who hate the cops state WHY they hate the cops, instead of just posting some BS like the following:

See, when people argue a point, they usually provide something called "facts", which helps defend their argument. To be fair, Vansterdam did provide a reason. How credible it is, that's up for debate.

Hell, even if you guys did give reasons as to why you hated the cops so much, I'm not sure how relevant it is to the topic. The fact is him being a cop has nothing to do with what he did to his sister. He could've been in any profession. Cop-haters can't seem to grasp this concept.

I just want to quote The7even again, because what he said carries a lot of weight. Some of you guys with your brick brains should try to understand what he said:
