School me on civics i've been looking into getting a civic for a long time and just haven't really found one that has caught my eye or in good condition. i'm looking for a newer hatchback civic. 97-00 = EK? what are the differences between model types like the ex, lx, dx, si, sir? so just any information to get me in chime with the civic world would help me out alot. thanks. |
SIR don't come in hatchbacks. I'm pretty sure hatchbacks only come in CX and DX. CX don't come with Powersteering. Both don't come with power windows or power locks. |
^ 2003 had a hatchback. came with the k20 160hp motor. the sir was only coupe in 99-00 but if you really want a sir hatchback. Just buy any hatch in those years and swap in a b16 or even better, a gsr motor. |
96-2000 = EK LX no abs, no power windows, no power side mirrors, no heated mirrors, no ABS, possibly no A/C, no body color on the side, door handle, mirrors, sideskirts etc EX is pretty much fully loaded and everything in, power everything, AC, ABS LX/EX 106hp with about 105 pounds of torque 1.6L no VTEC SOHC Si (canada version ) 1.6 127hp vtec with about 108 pounds of torque SOHC SIR (canada version) 1.6 160hp 108 torque DOHC VTEC only come in manual , requires premium gas, 4 discs American version Si = canada SIR |
you should go the the civic forum for sure. |
i will screw u |
I say scrap the civic idea and step in to a real car like a toyota or nissan. |
HONDA ALL THE WAY!!! there are no other cars in the world which are as reliable as HONDA you can rag the car all day and it will run like a champ...try doing that with a nissan or toyota!!!! |

Generally most cars will run good if you take care of them properly:) and it's how you drive them too (which includes spirited runs) |

in 99-00, there was also a DX-Special edition hatch where it came with alloys, double spoiler, air con, keyless. |
02-03 civic SiR EP3 (hatchback) (4 disc) 04-05 civic SiR EP3 (hatchback) (5disc) if you want newer civic hatchback u shuld get a EP3 |
^ 4 and 5 lug? |

honestly, civics are great starter cars for either end of the spectrum. weather ur getting it to just boot around, or plan on stepping into the modding realm, its a great starter car. in general, there is so much aftermarket support, and online knowledge, its pretty crazy. this makes diognosing any problem as easy as google searching. |

B18C5 weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Honestly building a new engine will cost more than a '91 civic. |
Civics are reliable cars and great starter cars too, cheap on gas and parts |
