Congrats for the purchase!! But yeah, I agree that you ended up buying a costly frame.
So if you need any picture frame in future then I suggest you to check out arttoframe. It has huge variety of frames available in different sizes and at affordable rate.

I went to Michaels to see how much a custom frame would cost. Had a conversation about what I was framing and that its just a cool picture that was about $35 online.

She lays out the frame and everything and shows me what the finished product would look like on her screen. It looked good.

Then I asked the cost. $1,800. "But its ok because its 50% off all custom framing so a very reasonable $900".

What an awkward exchange after that as I walked out.

But 40% off on pre made frames is a good buy.

I've come to learn from experience you get what you pay for in frames.

Depending on how much you value the item you're framing, a good quality glass and frame can, and will, go a long way.

I had some unique one-off posters and documents I wanted framed. The generic Ikea stuff "did the job" but didn't really add any flair to my living space. I managed to find a framer who offered to walk me through the process, from figuring out where it's being placed, to the colour and materials of frames, and the quality of glass, including any anti-reflective coatings etc.

Mind you, it wasn't cheap (we're not talking $900 rip off prices @ Michael's) but in the end, I felt it was well worth paying the price to have what I wanted to be properly framed. Having said that, I go to Audrey Nishi at Master Framers located on 4391 Main Street. A real pleasure to work with. You may be able to find cheaper framers, but Audrey's work has been solid on every occasion.

Master Framers apparently closed last April.

I know I can go to LD or Ikea, but I need to hang my certificate at a clinic and want to avoid cases of yellowing or degradation.

Any small businesses recommendation? Looking into getting 2-3 frames.
