Vader Speed and Sound: Good/Bad/Ugly Good work, bad stories? information? |
Did they open the new shop already? Last I heard they aren't going to re-open since they left the location on no.3 road...? |
i heard they got foreclosed. so i dont know whats happening |
i thot they were bankrupt last time i drop by their shop lol |
Ugh, i was just in there a couple months ago =| Any good car audio places? |
I had some stuff done from them in 2002. The work was ok, not great. |
If your looking for good sound equipment and don't mind the drive north shore audio video in north van is awsome. they have a company called dragster brought in from italy extremly high quality stuff at good prices and they know there stuff. |
^ Thanks, big car project for next spring trying to get a good start on information so far so good and thanks everyone for their input :) |
SoundsGood - Premier, JVC, Digital Designs, Compustar, Escort Soundworks - Alpine, Kenwood, Hertz, Compustar We're both sponsors that offer special discounts and high quality products for Revscene members. |
vader.. wow they're still around? i used to hear so many horror stories |
doh. their website is still running: http://www.vaderspeedandsound.com/catalog/ |
soundworks and soundsgood, everyone knows they are the top game in town. just go to any import car show, and pretty much every good system setup has been built and pieced together by them. i think they are just restructuring, i know back then they were already pushing for more online sales. |

avoid this place like the plague. trust me. |
Audio video in north van is a joke. Have a look at the installers, if you can count less than 6 beer cans rolling around the shop per installer, you might be safe, but good luck with that. also, dragster is a shit brand that no one runs because it's garbage. Italy makes good shit, like Audison and Hertz, but you won't find it at north shore audio video. I live in squamish and I still drive out to soundworks or sounds good for my stereo stuff. |
i'm getting this information second hand so take it with a grain of salt: because of the canada line construction, property taxes along the no.3 corridor went through the roof, so the landlord hiked up the rent to the point vader could not do business and closed shop... what i'm not 100% sure about is whether they are reopening at a new location, or some of the people from vader are opening up a new business under a different name. whatever it is, they are in the unit next to SR/revolution in richmond (which includes GPFX). |

I'd say AVU on Lougheed in Coquitlam over most other shops nowadays. And don't touch Future Shop or Best Buy with a 100 foot pole, ever. |

last time i went to that AVU they said they were closing down their car audio dept. and sent me to sounds good. and sounds good turned out to be awesome, i highly recommend them. |

Thanks! It is true...AVU Coquitlam has closed their car audio department and it sending us their customers and business. We have had a long standing relationship with those guys which is why their faith in us is exemplary. :) |
well actually north shore has always been pretty good for me, never had a bad time there |

Interesting... you think my buddy who works in the shop over at AVU Coquitlam would have mentioned he was out of a job or something...? I'll look into this more. |
