Ponyo, new Japanese anime by Hayao Miyazaki

I know its a kids movie, but you know what, ive seen every Hayao Miyazaki anime since "my friend totoro"... This movie lived up to it being a true Hayao Miyazaki movie. Everything down to the score was Hayao Miyazaki. Happy story line, the drawing, the score, and on top of that, the dubbed english was w/ some pretty big names doing the voice overs!

If you are a fan of his work, then you will love this. very heart warming, and dont be surprised to see a movie theater of kids.

This was definitely a great movie, and very "Miyazaki". However, it didn't feel as epic as his masterpieces like Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away. If you love Miyazaki's movies as much as I do, you'll know what I mean.

yeah i gotta agree.

usually his movies has a great build up, but this one kinda teedered around, and the ending was just lacking. however, the rest of the movie, was totally a miyazaki movie.

the voice overs, liem neeson voice for the father of the sea guy, tina fey was the mother of the little boy, and kate blanchette was the goddess. oh yeah, and betty white was one of the old ladies, haha.

Yeah i agree, the movie was very good. the animation, story, and the english voices. but not being a "little little" kid anymore the kid friendly movie was a bit of a let down. overall great movie though.
