History of the ‘Jimmy Ng’ Mini. Raffle Draw to WIN THE RTR MINI!! This vehicle was originally donated to the RCMP by Mini Richmond in memory of Constable Jimmy Ng. Constable Ng was tragically killed in the line of duty on September 15, 2002 while responding to a call when his marked police cruiser was hit by youths who were street racing. Constable Ng grew up in Richmond, graduated from Matthew McNair High School, and joined the RCMP in 1996. Constable Ng was a member of the RCMP Richmond Detachment, C Watch, and an active local volunteer. He was also a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary Unit No. 7, based in Steveston. With affectionate memory of Constable Jimmy Ng, the RCMP used this vehicle to build awareness around the issues of street racing. When they took possession of their new vehicle, earlier this year, they wanted to ensure the original ‘Jimmy Ng’ Mini continued to support the community. They recommended, and Richmond Mini agreed that the Mini pass into the hands of Touchstone to benefit all families in the Richmond community. Because this car has been completely donated by Mini Richmond, 100% of every ticket sold will be used to provide counselling to families in crisis through Touchstone Family Association. Only 5,000 tickets are being sold, so odds of winning are excellent compared to any other lottery. The worst thing that could happen is that you would give $10 to charity! The best is that you win a 2004 Mini Cooper S (with only 20,000 k on the clock) for $10! Touchstone celebrated its 25 years of service this year. Their mission is to provide counselling to families in crisis. This includes: restorative justice for youth, parenting, anger management, marriage, foster parenting support, plus, plus, plus. Website for more information is: http://www.touchstonefamily.ca Draw date: Sept 24, 2009 (Touchstone's AGM) Click here to download tickets order form!
