Putting rival car shop stickers on the same car?

A few days ago I went to this car meet, and I see a car with multiple stickers of different car shops. Designo, Drivehard, and etc.

I can understand if you are sponsored by a particular shop or you work/own the shop, you'll be rockin' their sticker on your car. However, why do they put on multiple shop stickers, especially those shops are prob business rivals? Sponsored by all of them, or they just got parts from them and decides to rice up their car?

Because every sticker adds 5 horsepower to your car.

Obvs.

^ lol yea... how do you know?

Psykopathik 08-24-2009 03:32 PM

Free stickers. What if you're like me and know most of the shop owners personally. I like supporting my friends. I don't really care if the shops are competing.

i dont think ppl put stickers on to show who sponsors them or what ever and more like HEY I GOT SHIT DONE here and there and i got this and that lol

Maybe the guy had work done at both of those shops and he liked the quality of work they did. Now he's advertising both of their shops to spread the word of their good service. Or maybe their's some type of horsepower multiplier if you have more than one shop sticker...

124Y 08-24-2009 06:32 PM

Well, I'm not tryin' to call anyone rice in the beginning. When I saw those stickers, the 1st thing that came in my mind was...it's like putting decals from "RedSuns", "Emperor", and "Akina Speed Stars" onto one car.

silk 08-24-2009 06:39 PM

its the new trend, you idiot

GLOW 08-24-2009 07:40 PM

maybe they're covering up dents/cracks/scratches in their car that they're too cheap to fix? beats duct tape :D

hey, the initial d evo drivers had stickers of all the teams they beat on their cars so it's ok

TRDood 08-24-2009 08:16 PM

i use a license plate cover from Advance because it looks better than my stupid openroad one.

and i have only bought $50 worth of lugnuts from them. LOL

azzurro32 08-24-2009 08:48 PM

Do shops give you discount if you sport their stickers? That, or if they pay/sponsor you would be the only way id roll with one

drunkrussian 08-24-2009 09:50 PM

don't race cars that're sponsored by shit have shitloads of stickers? that's prolly psychologically the reason - they wanna be like them. Same reason why people do other ricey things i guess...

CP.AR 08-24-2009 09:56 PM

shop stickers don't ADD horsepower, they exponentially increase the horses - adding is for Mugen/TRD stickers, yo.

so if you have 3 shop stickers, you would get 2^3=8 hp increase!

Look out for random shop stickers that give 1hp increase though... cause that way, even if you have 200 of them ... 1^200 =1hp

dizzystar 08-24-2009 09:59 PM

this thread is terrible, please close.

yeah but everyone here is on the hate rice bandwagon.

i say if you like it and its your style, go for it. i'd rock shop stickers on my car but im not affiliated with any shops.

PS, i have no stickers on my car yet. but my front windshield is going for $50/month, rear window $120/month. PM me with offers

Hot Karl 08-24-2009 11:29 PM

oh man, have you guys heard that stickers add hp? also there's this song of these asian guys rapping called 'got rice?'

and www.anti-rice.com this hilarious site that documents ricey cars?

it's like 1999 all over again.

Contrary to what you believe...most shops and their owners are probably friends or at least acquaintences. They are not rivals and they are not meeting at mountain roads to see who wins the togue race up Seymour.

This guy probably just shopped at everywhere and got free stickers.

hotjoint 08-25-2009 09:38 AM

more hp of course :lol
