HOUSTON (Reuters) - Pop star Michael Jackson's death was caused by lethal levels of the powerful anesthetic propofol, according to findings by the Los Angeles chief medical examiner unsealed in court documents in Houston on Monday.

Jackson suffered cardiac arrest and died on June 25 at age 50. Since then, police have probed his death in an investigation that appears focused on the use of prescription drugs and the role of doctors who treated him, including his personal doctor, Conrad Murray.

"The Los Angeles Chief Medical Examiner-Coroner, Dr. Sathyavagiswaran, indicated that he had reviewed the preliminary toxicology results and his preliminary assessment of Jackson's cause of death was due to lethal levels of propofol (diprivan)," according to a search warrant affidavit for Murray issued by California.

The document was released by the Harris County District Clerk in Houston, where Murray has offices, which U.S. Agents raided on July 22, looking for evidence of manslaughter.

don't you think the doc would have some kind of document/attorney with him to protect his own ass?

Nocardia 08-24-2009 10:41 PM

from someone who knows about the drugs he was taking/given.....I would be seriously concerned with what the Dr. gave him. Don't know if this is what MJ took regularly but from a outside looking it, it looks bad. Likely if I gave that to a regular healthy guy, he would be at serious risk.

Sodium 08-24-2009 10:44 PM

Maybe MJ asked his doc to do it for him? Doc knowing him for so many years.....

The doc is prolly in for the money only. Maybe MJ slept w/ his highschool sweetheart & he's taking revenge on MJ. That's wut always happens in TV shows

penner2k 08-25-2009 09:58 AM

You know what pisses me off..
If a normal person dies the police would take the body to the coroner.. They would rule it a drug overdose and within a week the body would be in the ground. BUT since its MJ they make a huge deal out of it and take resources away from real cases.
No way the doctor will get charged with murder. Negligence causing death... yes.. but give me a break... I doubt the doctor was trying to kill him..

Harvey Specter 08-25-2009 12:25 PM

Weird how the family still hasn't buried MJ...makes you wonder if all the rumors about MJ wanting to be frozen and cloned are true.

They also dont abuse prescription drugs and find a doctor to inject them with drugs that arent supposed to be used outside of a hospital.
Was the doctor wrong for doing it? Yes BUT if that doctor didnt do it someone else would have.

dizzystar 08-25-2009 05:35 PM

^^ pretty much.

raygunpk 08-25-2009 05:42 PM
