How to stay awake at work?

I hate office work. Cheap coffee doesn't work here...and I yawned so many times my jaw hurts a bit now.

What would you do?

Mercy 08-26-2009 08:09 PM

fast paced music does it for me.

Since you work in an office, I assume you have a table? You can hide a hooker between your legs while you move your chair to as forward as possible, and let her "keep you awake".

lol but honestly, take a short nap if you can. A short nap really helps.

eat an apple. Apples are better than coffee or energy drinks. Plus its natural, and great for you! Can't go wrong with an apple. Avoid eating turkey. Apparently, it causes drowsiness.

Eat less carbs for lunch. Instead of noodles, just eat meat and veggies. You'll have long lasting energy all day without the insulin spike and crash.

Poonpee 08-26-2009 08:31 PM

i find that the most effective way to stay awake is talking to someone, be it msn / phone / face to face

keifun 08-26-2009 09:33 PM

Those little bottles of 5-hour energy drinks..I bought 2 like $3 at Walmart. I drank one at work and I was awake all day.. It tastes funny though..

doggface 08-26-2009 09:41 PM

Couple things that will help you stay awake:
Eat turkey, or a really large meal. Tylenol helps but only take it when things get really busy. Listen to slow jams, talk to your GF about her purses, keep the temperature slightly warm, and/or get a really soft cozy office chair.
