Flashforward

This is a pretty decent concept. Its based on a book written by a Canadian who theorized about what might happen when the scientists at CERN switched on the Large Hadron Collider.

Quote:

A mysterious global event causes everyone to simultaneously experience, for two minutes and seventeen seconds, his or her life six months in the future. When it is over, many are dead in accidents involving vehicles, aircraft, and any other device needing human control. Everyone who survived is left wondering if what they saw will actually happen.
A Los Angeles FBI agent named Mark Benford tries to figure out what exactly happened and why it happened. Along with his team, he creates a database of people's flash forwards from around the world called the Mosaic Collective. Apart from the various catastrophic visions, people also see themselves relapsing into various former vices, such as Benford seeing himself drinking again, and his wife Olivia has a vision of herself with another man.

Looks good. Joseph Fiennes. John Cho, Dominic Monaghan, and Seth McFarlane will be in it.

Hondaracer 08-28-2009 04:49 PM

gonna read the book if anything

El Bastardo 09-23-2009 05:56 PM

Bump for LiquidTurbo

LiquidTurbo 09-23-2009 08:51 PM

Oh, you made a thread already. Sorry dude!

twitchyzero 09-24-2009 01:05 AM

looks like it could fill the lost void..great thanks I'm only keeping up with The Office this fall so I can squeeze this show in

Im guessing they're just using the plot elements from the book and wont actually try to follow it?

CRiXy 09-24-2009 04:54 AM

LOL, I thought you were talking about an old family sitcom on Disney Channel, Flash Forward.

El Bastardo 09-24-2009 09:10 PM

So what did you guys think?

Delish 09-24-2009 10:19 PM

I like it, it has a lot of potential. Then again, I'm the hugest LOST fan so... yeah.

LiquidTurbo 09-24-2009 11:53 PM

Anyone see the Oceanic Airlines billboard ? A nice throwback to LOST

StylinRed 09-25-2009 12:10 AM

oh Letterman was talking about this tonight, Cho can't act

but ill give it a shot

LOST.... when the hell is that getting back on the air.... :/

SkinnyPupp 09-25-2009 08:10 AM

This is a pretty fucking awesome show! Cho can act fine, he did a great job of reacting to not seeing a flashforward without giving it away.

No doubt, loved the first episode I think I'm hooked.

El Bastardo 09-25-2009 02:50 PM

Who caught the Seth McFarlane (Family Guy) appearance?

Wikipdia page says McFarlane will not be a regular cast member, but will appear in several episodes during the first season.

Wait, who was he?

And yeah, I was pretty impressed with the first episode. I just hope it doesn't turn into a Fringe for me. The first couple of episodes was great, but things started getting a little too X-Files for me... too many things that were too hard to swallow to even accept as reality. Hopefully this wont follow a similar pattern.

twitchyzero 09-25-2009 10:02 PM

i liked episode 1

im not sure how they can adapt a novel into a series..?

unless it's a mini-series or 2 seasons long..or just borrowing in the plot elements

however i feel like there's way too many similarities to lost..The pilot starts off with the protagonist awakening from a chaos accident..explosion happens..exact same pilot opening scene as lost.

At the longtable meeting in FBI headquarters he's one of the agents sitting at the table, and he also has a few lines of dialogue.

eddoe 09-26-2009 05:07 PM

Saw the first episode, great show to replace Lost which is ending this season.

StylinRed 09-27-2009 02:43 AM

Watched the first ep finally, i was right CHO can't act for shiet

some stupid moments

but it looks like its going to be a good show! i wonder how many more lost cast members are going to be in it

twitchyzero 10-18-2009 01:33 PM

anyone still following this show
i find it so silly how they have now 2 cast members from lost it's so awkward...they dont usually do this in western shows only chinese dramas haha

might as well add in the stupid smoke monster

Delish 10-19-2009 03:07 PM

^ actually I think it's 3
Dominic Monaghan (Charlie), Sonya Walger (Penny Widmore) and Kim Dickens (minor character, played Cassidy, the woman who had Sawyer's baby)

Flash Forward isn't progressing the way I want it to.. it might turn out to be a show I wait until the whole season's finished and watch it all at once

jlo mein 11-13-2009 02:20 PM

People still watching this? Its one of my favourite shows this season. One thing I still don't understand is that they found the Somalia photos several episodes ago, yet they haven't followed up on it and gone to Somalia to investigate.

illicitstylz 11-13-2009 02:25 PM

this is progressing pretty slow imo

SkinnyPupp 11-13-2009 05:44 PM

Yeah it's going way too slow.
