Photographs taken at the scene show the money was bundled in packages of 20s, 50s and five-dollar amounts.

The women met with police, who seized the money. The cash will be kept by police during an investigation that could reveal whether the funds were proceeds of criminal acts or from a legitimate source, said acting Abbotsford police Sgt. M. Smith.

If the money isn't claimed by a person who had it for legitimate purposes, the women can apply to keep it, he said.

I'd turn it in, but not go on TV like those women did. Chances are very good that nobody will claim it. Found items not claimed within a year are given back to the people who found it. If it does belong to someone who lost it legitimately, cool.

sooo if its drug money, the gangsters probably wont come pick it up so they would get it after 6months or some period of time? BUT if cops somehow proved the money was from proceeds of crime, could they keep the money?
