| Questions about Canada Post charges
Quick question guys, is it true if the other party who is shipping you an item overseas or from states and list the item as gift, Canada post or the border have no rights to charge you anything extra? I ordered something last week and i have to pay around 15% cost of the item to Canada Post |

Anything marked over 20$ Canadian in the customs forms CAN be taxed. This is true even if the person marks it as a gift or not. I say CAN because sometimes they dont care and just let it through.

customs charges are pretty random.
make sure the person in the status don't use fedex/ups, you will for sure get charged customs + huge brokerage fees.

no..for normal shipments..anything over $20 is taxed.
for gifts...anything with a value over $60 is taxed...the allowance is just higher..
(of course you may choose to put a lower value on it..and take the risk of being checked or the item being lost in transit)

The gift part usually requires something like a card that kinda says it's a gift. That's what I remember reading on the Canada Post website.
