ei/disability related

ok, so long story short, i may be coming home to bc from quebec this wednesday if everythings ready for me... so it turns out that i need surgery cos my physiotherapist said i showed signs of compartment syndrome...

anywho, once i get back to bc i plan to go for surgery asap, so my question to you is: will i be able to collect ei/disability

im working in quebec right now and my leg problem is impedeing my performance and making it so i cannot make any progress at all. my employer said i was gonna get bone scans and whatnot and if i required surgical procedures then it wouldve been covered for, however speaking to some of the people whove been here for some time and who recieved/were injured said that recovering here in this enviroment is not the best place and id be here longer than expected. due to this fact some of them quit and went home...

that is why i choiced to leave and shell out the money myself for this operation so then i would actually be able to simply relax instead of pacing myself everyday where i am right now

thus, i do not know what i should be doing... i was planning on applying ei as soon as i got a surgery date, but then theres disability? im not sure as to which im entitled to and is why im asking

please guide me, and thank you
i know theres threads about ei already but not being disabled and unable to work, and i didnt want to jack the thread anyhow, sorry and thanks in advance
