I just go my MSDN info this morning :)

From what I have read on RFD, they will not be releasing Ultimate RTM on MSDN. Since it's been confirmed that the keys are only tied to versions (Professional, Home, etc.), maybe you can find a traditional Chinese Win7 Professional and try use the keys on that?

SkinnyPupp, is your sister in highschool? I have a sister still in highschool and I am wondering how did it work out for you. I'm just assuming because your sister's young, that's why you helped her with it.

No, she goes to UBC. I did it for her because she has absolutely no interest in this :lol

^ Actually I've been telling my friends about this deal, but none of them seem to be really interested in it.

Ulic Qel-Droma 09-14-2009 08:23 PM

time to make friends with students... that don't care about computer shit.

vapour_lock 09-14-2009 11:24 PM

got my keys today. great deal. why dont they offer it for ms office? whaddauthink?

chopchop 09-15-2009 03:23 PM

Got my keys within the same day as well, I haven't read through the whole thread on RFD but it seems like some people are having problems burning the image?

Are you guys downloading directly from e-academy and its working fine?
Also, the 8 keys seem to work on any version of the Windows 7 so we just need to download the version we want to use and apply any of the 8 keys.

way2quik 09-15-2009 03:48 PM

W7 Pro keys only for Pro, regardless of language, if that's what you meant by any version.

Yeah that's what I meant. I am just hoping that the burning process isn't gonna be troublesome, some people got corrupted ISOs

twitchyzero 09-15-2009 04:47 PM

I'm sucha noob..I thought x86 was some new 86-bit OS lol
hopefully this will really work out

trd2343 09-15-2009 05:28 PM

Has anyone figure out how to properly share a folder in Windows 7?

I tried turning on sharing for the Public folder in Advanced sharing properties, but it automatically grants access to my own user folder as well, meaning a user from another computer can access my person files.

In XP, it was just right clicking and sharing the Shared folder.

way2quik 09-15-2009 07:01 PM

Right Click folder > Sharing > Share > Everyone > OK/Share.

However, if all your computers have W7, share as Homegroup, and have your other W7 computers enter the same password.

twitchyzero 09-16-2009 10:20 AM

apparently they're no longer giving out Win7 keys.
d'oh I Just paid last night and they wont give refunds

Some are saying to wait until retail is out thats when they might get more keys
:(

JordanLee 09-16-2009 03:02 PM

Thank god I got to write down 7/8 keys by last night.

trd2343 09-16-2009 08:38 PM

Is this considered fraud?

I mean, we paid for something, and now they say they don't provide it anymore.

SkinnyPupp 09-16-2009 08:47 PM

Holy shit you're right! :lol

I only got 2 codes... But that's all I really needed. Actually I could use 1 more, so I am kinda fucked. Hopefully they get around to releasing more.

Ulic Qel-Droma 09-16-2009 10:24 PM

fuck that's what i get for procrastinating, who wants to be nice... in return i'll let you jerk me off, a few times, anyone?

haha...

I think we need to come to realize this is actually wrong. This is stealing. A crime. Why?

Upon payment, ACM has agreed to provide us with copies of Windows 7. That's the term. Before we pay, ACM is free to change the term to whatever it likes, such as taking Windows 7 out. BUT, after we have paid, our money become theirs, and whatever ACM has agreed on for our money is ours, and that is Windows 7. I have agreed to pay ACM $20, and ACM has agreed to give me Windows 7 for my $20. Now ACM decided it doesn't want to do that and takes it back. That's stealing.

Why am I ranting? Because I took my time and didn't get any keys :(

I'm going to call ACM up.

chopchop 09-16-2009 11:55 PM

^I think the $20 is just the membership fee for ACM. To be able to download Windows 7 requires you to opt and get accepted into the program. Anyhow, it sucks that they no longer have them :(

SkinnyPupp 09-17-2009 12:48 AM

Membership of ACM gets you MSDNAA access, not "copies of Windows 7". Nobody is "stealing" anything from you. You still have MSDNAA, but they no longer offer Windows 7.

not quite, slick. you paid for acm membership period. if it so happened you were a student (or could somehow prove to be a student) you got access to msdnaa as a 'bonus' lets say. they dont owe u jack.

Gh0stRider 09-17-2009 09:31 AM

:fuuuuu:

chopchop 09-17-2009 01:21 PM

Somebody on RFD posted an alternative, but it costs $32 USD instead.

nns 09-17-2009 02:18 PM

Oh, damn, I waited too long. I had this since last week, but I never got around to downloading Windows 7 until today. Now it's not available anymore :|.
