One of, for sure.
But given how long since there's been a World War, I wouldn't doubt something much bigger may occur in the next 50 years.
NOTE: ~3000 people died in 9/11. But 5,000,000 people have died in the Congo since 1980. That's 1666x more people.

I understand that this is a very heartfelt issue and all. RIP to the victims.
But I can't get out of my head how many times Family Guy mentioned 9-11.
1. When Lois was running for mayor
Interviewer "How are you going to change healthcare?"
Lois "9-11"
2. When the Griffin family went to "Ground Zero" at NYC
Peter "So this is where the first person got AIDS"
But I remembered when it happened, I was in my Gr 7 classroom. Suddenly the teacher (hearing from another teacher) runs to turn on the radio and the whole class was silent. We were all listening to what was happening.

this thread reminds me of the "9-11 was an Inside Job" group that has a booth in UBC SUB every once in a while...they'll get in super heated argument with some of the students walking by lol

^^^ Yeah they have that goin' on in Discovery Channel too. Yesterday and possibly today.
Conspiracy theorists are hella funny. They tried to debunk that it's a controlled explosion by showing how much work, how many workers are needed, and how disruptive a process it is to prep a 9 Story building for explosive demolishment.

If this happened outside N. America or a big city in Europe, it would be second page news.
How many people on here reflect on the anniversaries of other events where 2, 5, 10 times more people are killed?

wow. the first pic speaks volumes for the conspiracy. I thought it was all mumbo jumbo , but WTC 7 was in the middle of 2 other buildings , that didnt even get touched according to the pic. WOW!
can you say? Controlled Demo?
Can you say? Inside Job?

No disrespect for the ones that past away in this unfortunate event...
But to be honest, I had no idea what the World Trade Center was until this
event had happened.

How many people on here reflect on the anniversaries of other events where 2, 5, 10 times more people are killed? | But you have to remember, outside of the attack on Pearl Harbour, what major disasters/terrorist/war attacks have hit the USA or Canada in the past century? There are still yearly memorial services for things like the Oklahoma bombing and the plane that was bombed mid-air in the Maritimes, but something like the WTC event has a far greater impact on the typical average North American life than the other two I mentioned.
It's kinda sad to know that when I was last in New York, I remembered looking up at the twin towers and thinking that they were sooo tall. This was back in the early 80's when I was too young to understand the significance behind those buildings. Sadly, those will be the last memories I have of actually seeing that whole block still intact.
