Pentax flash problems?

Just a quick post to see if anyone here involved in either retail or pro photography might have come across any Pentax AF540FGZ flash units that have had the flash head get stuck in the forward position? I can't tilt it up to bounce it, it's like a wire or something is pinched inside. The first unit I had did this and was exchanged by the retailer, now the second one is doing the same thing.

I must admit, the build quality of the Pentax flash is a far cry from my K10D body.

Hmmm... I've never come across this problem before. I'd say take it back to the dealer where you bought it from if it's still under warranty. It's surprising to hear the flash is not built well, as the bodies are quite solid.

I bought it from an online dealer who were very good about replacing the first unit that failed after a couple of uses. It is past their exchange time so I have to deal with Pentax Canada now.

As for the build quality, the buttons are plasticy feeling, the plastic is cheap and the battery door is even cheaper. It's a stark contrast to my K10D body which feels wonderfully built, tight and solid.
