Just caught two car theives in the act
 

I was pulling into my street about 3:10am tonight and saw a women and an men fiddling with the door of a 90s Tercel. They ducked and hide when they saw me coming up the street. My 240 was stolen twice about 5 houses down.
I knew something was up so I pulled around the block and parked in the alley. I watched as they tried to break in by sliding a thin piece of metal down the side of the door. I called the cops right away and the dispatch said to wait and don't follow them if they drive away. I waited 5 mins or so and they finally broke in, started the car and drove away. I followed them down kingsway about 2 blocks and saw the cops coming by on the opposite direction. I waved at them and they pulled a u-turn and busted the two thieves. They looked like cracked out junkies, at least the women did, she was all twitchy and shit. They tried to deny everything but I told them I saw the whole thing. Fucking thieves, probably the same guys that stole my 240 too:mad:

but then again with our stupid judicial system they'll probably be out in a few hours and breaking into the same car again :flamemad:

Can we follow up on what happens to these jokers? It would be a good story for the media. RS member witnesses a crime, the police apprehend the suspects, thatnks to the RS member, they go to court and the offenders get off with a warning. I would have notified the RS beat down crew.

your story is cool ... but 1 question.... "cops coming from opposite direction, you waved at them, and cops made a u-turn" ...

i am not saying OP is lying or anything... just surprised the cops are that easily convinced when they heading to the car jacking scene without knowing the criminals have fleed away ?

there's isn't much that happens around 3am. when you're a cop and someone flags you down, you know what's up.

a little bit awkward too but MAYBE he was on the phone with the cops, told him wat he drives, and wat car the thives stole. So.....he waved at the cop, and the cop knew wat they were looking for already? :confused: i dunno

They already knew what they were looking for, gave them full description of the car and suspects over the phone. Just stuck my hand out the window in case they missed us.
