I highly suggest Fine Arts Bartending school. Helped me a lot during my first years of bartending. Great instructors, great exercises and you get your Serve it Right certificate.

Information can be found here http://www.fineartbartending.ca/
My company is associates with Fine Arts so email me at westcoastbartenders@gmail.com and I can get you a 10% discount. Cheers!

You're better off working as a bar runner first and getting experience that way. Bartending school doesn't give you a leg up when it comes to finding a job.

Ya its not for local jobs, I have a career here but i want to do some traveling for a extended period of time. I thought Bartending would be a good way of getting some cash.

guess you haven't tried searching yet ~ this has been brought up numerous times

but ~ i went to metropolitan bartending school ~ quite honestly ... i think bartending school is unnecessary but with good experience + bartending school certificate ~ i guess it would make it easier to find a job as a bartender ...

Ya its only like 400$... i was just wanting to use the school to learn the bartending trade. Because i know jack squat about mixing drinks.

Maybe getting some work experience in a bar would be a good idea before i start looking for jobs over seas.

QTF +2

I just worked my way up in a bar. No school. I have friends who have taken the school, and say its pretty much worthless and you throw out most of what you learned. Now that I have 5+ experience it isn't hard for me to find work.

$400 seems expensive for someone to teach you how to throw a bottle properly, considering in BC you will barely ever use 99% of the skills due to the horrible amount of liquor laws and bullshit that can happen to you while doing it. I can do some, and misleading tricks and stuff, but nothing too crazy.
