They haven't explained why samuel has powers over people, and can easily convince anyone that he isn't a fucking lunatic carnie. Because of that, they make every single character on the show look like a complete fucking moron.

^ I had the same question then I heared:
Spoiler!
-bennet said that the carnival was more like a cult. (Cult leaders are very persuasive and charismatic, Samuel uses the word "family" when he talks to people with abilities to make them feel less like freaks and more accepted.)
-When Joseph was talking to Mohinder he said that his brother has always sought out to be more than what he is. (Samuel is ambitious)
Through watching his interactions with other people you can kind of see how charismatic and charming Samuel can be when he wants something from someone. Eg he asked Claire to stay and look around only till her popcorn was finished. He knew that Claire couldn't be convinced by words and that she had to experience it her self, to top it all off he let that guy beat the shit out him until Claire stepped in and said "leave us alone" and at that point Samuel pretty much had her.
He seems to be pretty smart too, he was able to trick Hiro into going on some quest to right the wrongs of the past. But he also used this quest to find out Hiro's weakness (charlie) and kidnapped her to get Hiro to do other things for him.
another possibility could be that he also possesses the power to control people's will similar to Joseph (his brother could control emotions). But noone other than Syler right now can have more than one power so its doubtful that Samuel has more than one. But in a sense he's more powerful than Syler because the people he gathers around him all have powers and are very loyal to him, and he was even able to persuade Syler too.
We all know that his ULTIMATE goal is to gather enough people with abilities around him to enhance his own abilities. So all this talk about family, settling down, and creating a paradise are just to get more people to gather around him. IMO the writers have a very good idea going, they're just dragging it out and making it boring for viewers.
All the bitching about this show has finally resulted in some change. Yup that's right the show has officially been canceled by NBC.
Yup.
It's done. It seemed like there might be a little bit of wiggle room right there at the end, but now it's been made official: Heroes has been canceled.
We'll never find out if Claire-Bear's public super-power display in the Season 4 finale shocked the world or only made them mildly curious.
Update: Deadline Hollywood is reporting that while Heroes is indeed cancelled, NBC is still "working on a way to wrap up the show," and may soon commit to a two or four hour special event for midseason that would end the story.
what a waste watching this show for these years. Like Rice Cooker said it has to be the biggest nose dive in history. I would like to see the wrap up show tho they can at least give us that.

No doubt season 1 was pretty awesome and it went straight to hell pretty quickly after that. Just when you thought the series couldn't get any worse they pull some other shit to do just that. With that said, I would like to see a quick wrap up and call it the day. I'm only curious to what Clair's little stunt at the end of last season has done.
