banking question

been on hold for 20 minutes now for online banking thought i could ask here:

someone wants to do a direct deposit into my bank account. what information should i be giving him?

- my bank
- my name
- transit number
- account number?

or try EMT (electronic money transfer), if your friend can do online banking. Better than giving out account #.

anything i should know about with EMT? i remember doing certapay once but i don't think that exists anymore.

EMT is pretty straightforward, tell friend your e-mail and he/she will click on the EMT option and send fund over. Your friend need to tell you the password for EMT and you deposit fund to your account.

I've always been a fan of paypal, if you when you send the payment click the "personal" tab and hit "living expense"
it won't charge paypal fees if you do that.

no paypal unfortunately because he got scammed by a buyer and paypal has his account locked
