I think everyone will have their own thoughts on ANY shop. Normally you only hear the bad ones.

Berzerker 10-08-2009 05:05 PM

No free advertising on RS if they want to be mentioned they can pay like all the other good shops out there :D

Berz out.

mspeedP5 10-10-2009 10:46 AM

Talk to Chris at $$$$$$$$?

mspeedP5 10-10-2009 10:46 AM

Wow, listed on the RS sponsor page and blocked...

http://www.revscene.net/sponsors/index.html

!SG 10-10-2009 12:13 PM

no offense to the shop.

business is business, and when ive been given the run around for payment enough times, i step it up on my end.

mspeedP5 10-10-2009 12:30 PM

So suggesting a business to another forum member looking for advice constitutes free advertising???
Blocking posts offering advice that isn't misleading, threatening or potentially damaging seems somewhat heavy-handed to me. JMHO.

Word of mouth advertising is something that NO company has control over. Don't worry tho, I won't be talking about RS to ANYONE now as I'm not being paid to advertise for RS.net.

Yes, business is business, but blocking out a companys name from a general discussion/question is pretty damn petty. You are "censoring" peoples discussions based on a poor business relationship between you and said company. That's just sad...

Do you have ALL the facts about why $$$$$$$$ isn't allowed on RS? If not then you really can't comment on whats petty or whats sad. I don't know all the details so I can't comment much either but I find your post pretty funny

I don't have all the facts, I am simply stating my opinion based on what's presented in THIS THREAD. Not advertising a company on your website is one thing, but censoring it's name from general discussion is something completely different.

Not to sure why my post is funny, care to explain? I'm curious :p

!SG 10-10-2009 05:12 PM

like i said, no offense to the shop.

business is business. RS servers dont pay themselves.

im not censoring you from talking about the shop, what services they provide, and products they provide.

censorship of the name was the last decision made, not the first.

if you find censoring a name petty, then what would you consider spam? No, petty would be me sending to collections. that is truly a business move. Petty would be talking shit about the shop, and making up stories to detour existing and future customers from doing business.

i see either you are a supporter of the shop, which is cool, or you have nothing better to do than to want to argue and trool

!SG 10-10-2009 05:17 PM

again, go ahead and feel free to solicit. havent blocked a post, ive only censored the shop name.

from the outcry, i assume you are a supporter of the shop. im sure they do good business and have plenty of satisfied customers. that isnt my concern.

how have i blocked posts? how have i blocked you from posting?

i have servers to pay, you dont.

again, no one has stopped you from posting, as you did reply to my post.

!SG 10-10-2009 05:21 PM

then what do you suggest i do?

ask for payment of advertising? done

giving a kick ass deal, ignoring the fact that over a year has gone by without receiving payment...

then what if that doesnt happen, whats the next step? oh right... not knowing the details and jumping in for the sake of arguement or just throwing your "I GOT YO BACK" support.

every business owner knows the cost of running a business, and what actions must be done. my action is no different.

let me guess, someones gonna throw it out saying "not supporting a local shop is not supporting the scene". guess what, RS is part of the scene, and we, like a car shop, have overhead, so where's the support in that?

SG, I don't even know what shop it is! I was really just trolling at work ;)

I'll leave this thread be

!SG 10-10-2009 06:04 PM

awwww, DAMN YOU! =/

and ditto, sick at home so i finally have time to respond to threads like this.

the shop in question probably does good work. no shop stays in business this long without having positive support

Block , censor, replace with $$$$$$. You know what I mean.
Bottom line is the OP was looking for some simple advice and this forum failed to allow that advice to be shared.

!SG 10-10-2009 07:55 PM

nope, that is where you are wrong.

the name of the shop is censored. opinions of the shop, experiences, reviews, none of that was blocked/censored or replaced with $$$$$$$.
