I don't think many computers still come with install CDs unless stated. There's usually a way to format without it anyhow.
You should get Win7 though, Vista's a pain, and Linksys is terribly slow =|

i went back to ncix yesterday and they told me they couldn't help me with the missing manuals and told me to find it myself online, and acer does not include any install cd's (eg. windows) so i better back up or hope/pray it dosen't die on me. they also told me to download the latest firmware for the router and now it's even slower than before | Does it have a recovery partition like most laptops do?
Worst case, just grab the serial key off it and download an OEM version of the OS (and use the key you have)

i can't make any sense at all out of the operating manual. i swear it's not written in english
i struggled with it all night... using speedtest.net, at one point i got 2.50Mb/s on a 3.0DSL line, but then a second test right afterwards barely registered 0.11Mb/s, and then timed out |

yes when i stop using the router and stay with the cable connection i have no internet speed issues and everything works well.
i ended up losing my internet connection completely last night with the router. spent a hour with the 1-800 linkys assist rep and didn't get very far and i couldn't stay awake long enough to continue struggling with it (they are a 24 hour service)... looks like i know what i'm going to be doing for the long thanksgiving holiday.

according the to review some guy posted.......
Things you should know about this combo...
Motherboard;
1. Has no FDD Connection.
2. Has no Post Speaker connection.
3. Has no PCI-E or AGP (Only 1 Legacy PCI)
4. Has (2) Int USB connections.
5. Has 2 SATA Connections but only includes 1 SATA Cable
6. Does not include a SATA Power Splitter or Molex > SATA Cable.
Case;
1. Has a FDD Bay which can double as a Hard Drive bay.
2. Includes Post Speaker.
3. Has room for 1 Expansion Card
4. Only Supports (1) Int USB connection.
5. Power Supply only has 1 SATA Power Connection
6. Reminds me of a shoebox.
7. Tight spacing and cables that are too long.
8. Loose Power Cable could risk damage or fire.
sounds like a piece of crap. you can't really expect anything for $150........
on the other hand......... i just got myself a shuttle.......... on sale right now for $265..... i wonder how this will work out.

sorry for the lack of updates. i've been struggling with all the stupid things windows vista does. all the experience i have with vista was way back when it was first introduced, and they installed it at work for all of 2 weeks before going back to XP beaause of all the problems it created. i did get an email from acer saying i qualify to download windows 7 but is it safe???
furthermore the e-gear HDMI cable NCIX sold me crapped out on me. i have to go back and see if they will replace it for me because i'm still under the 30 day store warranty.
