1012 is ion based. r3600 was pretty much the first ion base announced. not any better, but similar spec.

Okay, yeah... as ecsw said, I guess it's about the same. I didn't read the specs on the one you originally posted... didn't know there was a newer version Eee Box that uses Ion.

ecsw 09-28-2009 05:20 PM

^ lol. me either until everyone started to talk about 1080p.

dual Atom with ion should run 1080p smoothly in theory.

yap. r3600 has been announced for long time and it was finally here for a while. I would think it will ASUS take a little longer to get here.

r3600 has the game accessories like wii or something like that. ;)

Nikeaddict21 09-29-2009 11:28 PM

anyone have hands on experience with r3600...??
i wanna hook it up to my 42" lcd..... was wondering if it would be laggy......

thumper 09-30-2009 07:43 AM

well this is as far as i got last night... ncix was bad for my credit card

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f3...g/IMGP5707.jpg

i've never set up for wi-fi before, only DSL. i'm not sure what i'm getting myself into :o

Nikeaddict21 10-01-2009 12:57 AM

hurry up and try out that revo.! i wanna see what the quality the graphics are like........... on a side note............ ncix and credit cards:eek: do not go well together..... especially every weds when they have there cheap sales!

thumper 10-01-2009 05:56 AM

had a rough start last night. i opened up the box for the revo and there was only hardware inside... no install manual or literature, cd's, etc... i went ahead and set it up as best as i could, but some of the automated install tells me to "refer to owner's manual" or to "install cd". i know the revo dosen't come with an optical drive, but... i guess i have to call NCIx today, but i'm not sure if they will help me. a friend said that they will probably just tell me to call acer and deal with it myself

here. dl it. There should be a copy on that computer as well.

Nikeaddict21 10-02-2009 01:08 AM

i thought everything would have been preloaded like most laptops.. u just turn on. and everything sets up as u go along.........
How is the Cpu now?
did u get to test out the power yet?

thumper 10-02-2009 05:55 AM

no it's meant for my mom so i didn't get much seat time with it. i'll see her this weekend so i'll have some more time to figure it out. but right now i'm having more trouble with router issues at the moment... i don't know why it's so slow

also there is a sh*tload of useless software they throw into the computer that i have to clean out. and the last time i used windows vista was a few years back when IT installed it at work, and then removed it a few days later when most of our apps started crashing... i'm hoping not for a repeat of that

Nikeaddict21 10-02-2009 09:49 PM

yeah i heard u should definately uninstall macafee..

thumper 10-05-2009 07:00 AM

ugh my broadband router issues continue to make me suffer... internet access is slower than dialup right now

just checked the ncix website and my acer just went up $10 in price... i know it's not much but... huh?

Nikeaddict21 10-05-2009 06:46 PM

what ? i thought it was always 399.99...
http://ncix.com/products/index.php?s...nufacture=Acer

thumper 10-06-2009 06:46 AM

nope. i printed out that page before buying it last week and it was $10 less.

i went back to ncix yesterday and they told me they couldn't help me with the missing manuals and told me to find it myself online, and acer does not include any install cd's (eg. windows) so i better back up or hope/pray it dosen't die on me. they also told me to download the latest firmware for the router and now it's even slower than before :flamemad:
