Ive never had to pay addition duties or custom fees, and if i did wouldnt they contact me? anybody got any ideas what may be going on? |
I've had it happen before and get stuck there for over a week. |
I know with DHL sometimes you need to fill out a power of attorney form to have your package cleared with customs, but I'm not sure if USPS requires too. However, I have had packages held by customs and received them later with no incident, apparently its a pretty common occurrence. Your best bet would be to call USPS with your tracking # and ask them whats up. |
maybe you just got unlucky and customs are dealing with a higher flow of packages. I've had a few mid size package been in customs for a week before it was cleared. Customs cant do much about, IMO if you called and asked, they probably WOULD check your package cause they might wonder why your in such a hurry to recieve the package. Just wait paitently, if it is longer than 2 weeks, then i'd give Canada Post a call (since is already passed US, it will be up to Canada Post to track the package) |
Just wait it out. Sometimes it can take up to a week or two, so I wouldn't be too worried. |
Ya i don't know its just odd i guess since its the first time something is being held up for some reason. usps doesn't require that power of attorney i don't, i have recieved a few other things by them no problem. even by calling usps though would they really beable to help much since the product i guess is out of there hands and now in customs? |
My package via USPS/Canadapost was delayed as well because of customs so nothing to worry about, you'll get your package soon. You'll get your package eventually unless it was something illegal which customs might have seized. And you can't really e-mail or call anyone to get an answer when a package is stuck in customs. The only thing that can be done if you don't get your package after 30 days is ask the sender to file a claim but be warned, some claims can only be made after 45 days and once the claim is sent, it might take 2-3 months to get any money back. The amount of money also depends on if the buyer purchased insurance and how much declared value he/she put. |
