What is a good site to get Volk GTS reps?

What is a good site to get Volk GTS reps?

Its for the G35 coupe

Mugen EvOlutioN 09-26-2009 10:21 PM

local?

!Aznboi128 09-26-2009 10:51 PM

replicas FTL!

If you got money to get a G35, you got money to get the real thing!

Andy@advmotors 09-26-2009 10:53 PM

PM me your budget and we will see what we can find within it!

How do you know he didn't get his G secondhand?

What if he just wants the wheels for esthetic reasons and doesn't feel that blowing 5-6K on rims alone is necessary at the moment?

If you can buy the real deal, good on ya, but don't rip on people who may not have the resources to do so.

BrendanS 09-27-2009 02:36 PM

+1 I know when I have my own car I probably wouldn't want to spend $5k+ on wheels that would be used 95% in the city. I would probably just get reps for $1k and then have more money for good tires.

ELITE_TRAYUNZE 09-27-2009 06:33 PM

I'd rather get a better car than spend the 5K on wheels...

Preemo 09-27-2009 07:09 PM

The idea is, replicas for the lose all around.

Do I HAVE to post the video of the idiot with the RX7 and whack lug nuts? Or post pictures of what happens when you buy shitty wheels?

Replicas are exactly that. I understand that not everyone has the money to blow on $5000 rims but seriously. It's more about safety when you're screwing around with rims.

Ikkaku 09-27-2009 07:40 PM

^ good for you for having the money to blow. If the person is going to casually drive the car and not launch light after light, there really should not be a problem with replicas. Yes, the safety can be an issue, but you make it sound like they're constructed from plastic. As long as they drive smart (avoid potholes) and not drive around like they're track stars with them, it should not be a major problem.

Your example is as legit as never flying in an airplane because the small percentages that end up crashing.

JackyJai 09-27-2009 08:59 PM

Not all rims a 5k a set.
Who ever first came up with that idea is a total idiot.
A set of Enkei would be something like mid $3000 with tires.

You would rather do something right or not do it at all.
If you can't afford some decent rims just roll on stock ones or find some used sets.

I'm sure you can find a mint set of used rims for cheap, just between new replica and new legit wheels.

Honestly by buying used parts, you can save a lot and make sure that its done right

You might want to have those eyes checked. I said a set of ENKEI for around $3500 with tires NOT GT-S.

And YES i was able to find a set of brand new 19" GT-C which is about the same price as GT-S for less than $3000.
A local shop offered me a set of 19" 9.5F/10.5R GT-C in gunmetal for $2800 because it was on sale.
I love my Advan so much that I rejected it.

Not all Volks cost $5000. Only those 1pc forged TE37 or CE28N or RE30 etc would cost high 4gs.
In case you don't know those 2pc Volk costs less than the mono-block forged.

JHatta 09-27-2009 11:03 PM

Replicas suck.

but fair enough that people want the look without have the style. (and the price that follows)

it's their car, do what they want. it's up to us to point and laugh.

The rims are Enkei RPF1 which are very strong and light.
It was the guy didn't torque the lugs right or some how he fucked up his studs.

b-dub 09-27-2009 11:15 PM

People that buy replica wheels are retarded, it's a safety thing. I don't mind people that buy replica shit in terms of body kit etc, but wheels/tires is what's keeping your car on the ground, why would you risk putting cheap shit on your car just to make it look different? They don't have the same tolerances as many branded name rims. If you have a budget of less than $1-2000 on a car like the G35, don't even bother because any replicas will be worse quality than the stock rims. Do it right or don't do it at all!

I think i remember reading from RS or somewhere quite awhile ago that the guy had just bought lug nuts from lordco or something not long before the autocross.
The guy at lordco gave him wrong lugs or something?
Although theres high chance I'm wrong.

Still a classic video.

enkei/work should be affordable.

driving a G spending $3g on rims should be nothing.
not like the owner is driving a civic and telling him to spend $3g on rims and $1g on tires.
