Z4 M-Sport? |
wonder why they are not giving the new Z4 the M treatment? |
whoops, didn't read the title right...I thought this was Z4 Sport...too early to read properly.... |
probably just the M-sport kit |
apparently z4 are pretty damn fast!! stock 3.0L engine runs 14.0 1/4 mile with only 225hp and 220 torque ish |
i wonder if this gen z4 would get the v8 and not the 6cly 333. |
when Steve Dinan was doing his lowermainland tour, he mentioned that the new M cars will not have high revving NA motors anymore....new M cars will be warmed over regular bimmers.....I hope the Z4 gets the V8, but I think a it will get a tuned version of the 3.0l TT....similar to the new X5M/X6M Vs X5/X6 |

Yeah I don't think it can do 14 flat with the base engine Anyways, I think they need a more hardcore performance version to compete with the cayman S which is serious business on the track 300hp and Mid engine, now with PDK option in a car under 3000 pounds? BMW needs something to keep up with and just a higher power engine won't cut it, M coupe makes sense to me Although in a way, for the price of a cayman S an M3 is just waiting to kick it's ass. hmm... |
its an M sport package. BMW has no plans for an M version of the Z4, not yet. |

+1 what he said. I look forward to it though, I guess they will wait for the porsche to make the first move first. |

apparently i had no choice to believe until he showed many websites listing they are running 14.0 1/4 mile 3.0 engine i find it very very hard to believe with 220hp and 1380kg it can run that fast. Similar power, s2k, IS300, IS250 or other cars with 220hp cannot run low 14 or flate 14 bone stock. http://www.albeedigital.com/supercou...0-60times.html tats one http://autos.yahoo.com/2004_bmw_z4_r...i-performance/ 2nd one also seen a 14.0 flate on another article as well |
^ hey man, the z4 quoted in your links is the previous gen Z4...with the 3.0 motor and 255-265hp & 225lbs of torque.....+ the previous gen Z4 is lighter at 3200lbs. #s look right though..... |

huh? 04 z4 225@5900 hp 214 ft lb , 290 Nm @ 3,500 rpm 3200 lbs isnt exactly light, roughly 1380kg? with the above spec, seems impossible to run low 14/flate 14 e46 M3 weighs like what? 120-150kg more? but with addtional 110hp more plus 30-40 pounds more torque to make up for the weight? yet it runs mid 13? and 350z with roughly 1500kg 300hp, 270 torque it runs low 14, z4 just seems way to fast for what it is |
