Lost Wallet

Hey Guys,

Lost my wallet yesterday, was just wondering whats the quickest way to get back my sin card and citizenship card! Thanks!

124Y 09-30-2009 01:34 PM

When and where did you lose it?

Mugen EvOlutioN 09-30-2009 01:37 PM

Service Canada has made it easy for you to apply for a Social Insurance Number (SIN), to replace your card, or to amend your SIN record.

Simply gather the documents you need and take them to your nearest Service Canada Centre. If your application and documents are in order, you will get a Social Insurance Number in one visit and receive your card within 10 business days.

$10 fee

for citizenship card, you'll have to fill out a application and mail it in. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/informa...ons/certif.asp

Why would you carry your sin card around? now someone can steal your identity. you gotta watch your bank accounts now.

tubbyboi 09-30-2009 02:36 PM

thanks for the helpful replies.....

you're not my mom so if you cant help why do you bother posting? I made a mistake and everyone does, big whoop...

I lost my wallet at Park Royal Shopping Center I believe....I have cancelled everything and ive notified service canada.

Problem with getting my sin card is that they require me to have my citizenship card and i've called in to the place and they say it takes 10months to get my citizenship card. Shitty

HAHHAHA that was my tone of voice when i was speaking to the rep there, they say they do make exceptions but you have to write a letter as to why you need it sooner...... Which im planning to do because i need my social insurence number!!

Yeah, if everything ringed then i wouldn't be having this problem now -.-

If a good person picked it up and they believe in karma, it will get mailed back to you. Or go check with PR lost/found.

TheKingdom2000 09-30-2009 05:16 PM

i never understood why people carried their sin card around?
i mean, what is the purpose of it?

and it's terrible if you ever lose it...

Vansterdam 09-30-2009 05:18 PM

waiting in line at service canada to get your replacement sin is such a fucken boring and long wait unless you go super early

Fafine 09-30-2009 07:00 PM

exactly, that's what i meant. your sin card only has limited use. just remember the damn 9 numbers because it's harder to lose. Cause if you lose it, you're screwed. A sin card is probably the easiest way to identity theft your ass.

MWR34 09-30-2009 11:41 PM

keep looking for it, Its always in the last place you look.

i remember in middle school, I lost my wallet, and like 1 year later it was left on my front door step to my home. covered in mud and very damp. then I remembered the scenario where it might have fallen out... at that point i was like... what kind of good Samaritan goes miles deep into the woods, climbs over no-tresspassing fences, up a hill, near/through a swamp to go camping or WHY, then decides to return a gross missing wallet halfway across town after trekking back through all that... the condition and the distance was not worth the trip.

skyxx 09-30-2009 11:45 PM

I'm gonna shit on your thread.

Why would you even bother bringing your SIN card AND your Citizenship card. What kind of logic is that? Even the government tells you to keep it at home in a safe place. You don't even need it to go shopping or work or whatever with it. However I feel bad for you losing your wallet etc etc.

you! 10-01-2009 09:53 AM

sin card and citizenship card does not belong in ur wallet

q0192837465 10-01-2009 11:49 AM

Speaking of Citizenship card, I have no idea where mine is. I'm screwed

Gumby 10-01-2009 01:36 PM

I have my SIN card number memorized: 123 456 789

-.-

So don't you have anything with your SIN # i.e. tax return ,as most have stated ,you don't need to carry your card ,so as long as you "know" the # you should be fine?I can't remember the last time I ever needed the SIN card itself.

JSALES 10-01-2009 07:22 PM

the only time i ever used my sin card was maybe if i were to get a new job

underscore 10-01-2009 07:25 PM

3 things:

school

new job

taxes

so you only need to find it in Sept and Feb or so, and if you get a new job...

Exactly and I don't see a point in bringing your Citizenship card as well.
