Well there's PowerCAD and Vectorworks. Those are both originally were MAC based but you can get them on PC now to.

TurboCAD is another program I've used on a MAC but that was a long time ago. I tried looking up PowerCAD but didn't have much luck, I'm not sure if they're even around or used anymore. The most popular CAD software for MAC is Vectorworks.

I COULD do that, but to me its too much hassle. I just need it for school.
Basically what happened is my windows xp "expired"

So I have 3 options:

1) Find a CAD program for my mac
2) Buy the old computer I use to use at work already loaded with CAD
3) Somehow get a copy of windows xp

asher vellum graphite is used for mac based cad

but why the FUCK would you use a mac for any design work. seriously.

I was forced to use a mac to do cad for a company i worked for, and it was a joke. that and you'll get laughed at by the rest of the industry...lol and your drawings are non-transferable to pcs, which mean it's harder for you to distribute drawings to plants or suppliers.

the company has now turned pc (autodesk) because of their international affairs.

use Windows 7 RC? It's good til June so it'll get you through the school year. Why you have a Mac for a school computer is beyond me but that's beside the point.

I'm not dumb, my MAC obviously wouldnt be my first choice for any school work other than word documents. In this case it only became an option because it would save me from having to buy a new cheap pc or to save me the hassle of trying to find a good copy of windows xp from someone/somewhere.

My mac is just my everyday web surfing/music computer. Obviously if my PC was still functioning properly I'd be using THAT for CAD, you retards.

Anyway I believe I've found a solution.

Its a lot easier to find a copy of XP than it is to find a CAD Program for a MAC. That should tell you which option to pursue. Windows XP might be the most popular program in the entire world.
In my world the term "CAD program" is very vague. I have been working in CAD for the last decade in 3D. No 3D CAD model can be imported to 2D. They are really two separate entities. You should clarify what you are looking for.
Before you go calling people "retard", you should realize the poorest idea mentioned here is using a Mac for CAD work.

Wow you guys take the internet way too seriously. Obviously I wasnt ACTUALLY calling you guys retards, which is why I inserted the face..

Anyway thanks to those that shared some MAC based programs.

Like I said I know CAD on MAC isnt the BEST choice, but it will save me some $ and time, which most of you failed to understand is the reason why I was asking in the first place.

Instead I got some un-needed opinions of MACs and CAD..

Underscore: I wasnt getting mad or intentionally calling you guys names, sorry if you took it the wrong way.

yeah, well... YOU'RE STILL A STUPID HEAD

but seriously what did you end up doing? I thought up another solution which is check to see if any CAD programs are supported by Wine, and dualboot Linux.

There is Wine available for Mac, as well ... However, much like everything for the Mac, you have to pay for it (or pirate it) ...
