I wouldn't buy it but it'd be nice to see toyota make something interesting for once.

this is not AE86 at all...this is something completely different

240Z and 370Z, I can see the similarities, same as 1960s Mustang and the current one, but not this FT86 thing.

Timpo 10-06-2009 08:49 AM

and Nissan should bring the Silvia back.
it would have to be faster than Genesis coupe though.

q0192837465 10-06-2009 10:55 AM

yay, a new tofu car

thumper 10-06-2009 11:42 AM

i'm still looking at the pictures... it looks remarkably well finished, ie. beyond conceptual design only. i can even see wiper arms for the windshield? i hope they stay close to this design on the outside... not sure what to think about the inside though with all those zippers

Jsunu 10-06-2009 11:45 AM

Well to me its sexy and at least an attempt to bring something less boring to the market from toyota

thumper 10-06-2009 11:46 AM

there is another report here:

http://www.topgear.com/uk/car-news/t...-86-2009-10-06

it also mentions a subaru variant of this car... does anyone know what the name is? i can't find anything online

146hp 2.0L I-4... i'm a bit disappointed. i hope it's really light. or maybe an ej25T will fit

thumper 10-06-2009 11:56 AM

GT5 demo video!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7oOXdKcdpZ8

my monitor at work is crap... what does it say on the intake manifold? BOXER C-45?

TOS'd 10-06-2009 11:56 AM

in a way it looks like a smaller version of a r35.

hk20000 10-07-2009 02:17 AM

from the GT5 clip the only thing 86-esque about it is the sound.
