Carbon Fibre Dipping

Anyone know of a local place that can dip plastic interior trim pieces to look like cf? If so, where and what are the prices like?

DIP? So you're saying you can Dip pieces in to a liquid and when you take it out and let it dry it'll have CF weaves? Damn where can i get such a thing?.

Okay on a serious note, you can't really dip them. There are three options. First option you can get those CF looking stockers and wrap them with that. Second option, You can buy real CF and wrap your existing Interior pieces. Third option, you can actually go and find sites that have molded interior CF pieces. I'm Sure there's plenty.

Edit: Okay okay, I did a search and apparently there is such a thing. Now someone chime in on this.

I CF'd my Blackberry with vinyl wrap. It's fairly easy if there aren't too many creases or tight curves because the material is quite thick.

you can find DIY CF dip in Japan @ Autobacs
The dipping process was pretty old technology and you can find woodgrains or aluminm films at Autobacs too. But it's a DIY kit which looks easy but actually it's really hard to DIY a perfect interior piece. I'd seen it in Japanese version of the Option magazine many years ago which shows a DIY process too.

Fake CF is like fake rolex or fake luis vitton or fake whatever.

Fake is tacky.

Do it real or don't do it.

Cf dipping looks really tight if i could find a local place that does it, i would totally have some interior pieces done. I've checked around online and I've found that its mostly used for guns of all things. For example all of those mossy oak patterns that are on the butt of a rifle etc etc... I'll ask some of my gun loving buddies to see whats out there.

you can make the effect of carbon fiber with spray paint and some mesh from dollar store. See this video:

OCC used that process on one of there bikes on their TV show. From what I remember it
was dipped in a tank that had a super thin film in it.

Found the video:

use vinyl to wrap the trim. you can go to many places like AJ racing, Designo Auto House, SR autogroup and i know someone can do it for you as well.
