i'd rather have shitty 'downforce' than having a park bench on my car trunk. + when your driving 50-70km/h, really, is it necessary to have MORE down force? http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n...gga-please.jpg |

I just Needed to clarify to OTHERS on RS that THIS is NOT a high mount *SPOILER*, but it is indeed some sort of WING mounted on the trunk. It is not a personal attack, and whether or not high and mid mount spoilers has significant difference for anyone on here to make a comment is trivial. I'm glad experienced taught you that hi-mount *WINGS* can do a difference depending on application. At least you're not half as ignorant as others who rant about *WINGS* being useless. I ran 52inch wings myself on cars that weigh barely over 2000lbs. I have personally proven to myself and many others by experience that I pull higher lateral G's with a wing then a comparable car of the same weight with stiffer suspension setup + chassis bracing + better tires but NO AERO support. (And yes I have cornering graphs to back up my words) Wing vs no Wing = Night & Day. :haha: |

wow I just spent half and hour on this tread with such mixed emotions.. This thread should be published into a documentary haha IMO: let this guy have his huge spoiler; let him drive like a douche because in the end he'll face the consequences of his actions. But I do have to agree, it is because of people like him that when society see modified cars we( car enthused community) are looked down upon. |

That is not a high mount wing on the s2000 This is! LOLS http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/b...05/Apr4085.jpg http://i330.photobucket.com/albums/l...5/IMG_5580.jpg http://i330.photobucket.com/albums/l...5/IMG_5615.jpg |
still think roll cage in a convertible looks weird top down :/ |
can some1 explain to why a roll cage in a convertible is a good idea? excuse my noobness but it seem so pointless, decrease aerodynamic with the hood off and can you even put the hood up with teh cage in there? to me that looks like a rolling hazard? why not just get a nice CF hardtop maybe the cage inside the hardtop? I notice its purple and match his rims, so the ballin the only reason? |
iunno about the s2000... but i've seen lots of cages on those early miatas. uncle told me their weaksauce chassis flexing would need them for autocrossing.. it'll help alot apparently. the s2000..? i have no clue. i think the stock "x-bone" design chassis is quite strong.. it just looks balling..? |
I have no idea what rollcages are for! my top still works, and for areodynamics? Wouldn't it make more sense to not go top down in general if that concerned about areo dynamics I bought a cage because it looks cool and i could afford one hahaha, i'm a ricer |

+1 for richmond local  |
still, props to you for ballin' |
roll cage is pointless for street driven vehicles. period. However, it is one of the requirement for convertible on some track events. In autoX, roll cage is more for chassis reinforcement. Yes it add weight to the chassis but the benefit from chassis reinforcement out weight the additional weight. |
