Shaw High Speed says its up to 7.5Mb/s and you guys are getting 25-30?? that doesn't seem possible. I have High Speed Extreme (up to 15Mb/s) at my place in Vancouver, I should check out what speeds I actually see. |
it's because of powerboost |
Btw- today's Vancouver Sun had a huge article from Harvard, talking about countries internet speed vs cost ratio. We're the worst then mexico and only better then Slovakia. Needless to say South Korea and Japan owns the rest of the world by like 100000X times. |
So Shaw is charging around $45 for standalone 30 Mbps service? I find that somewhat hard to believe... |

With FF using DownloadThemAll, I get a constant 1.5-2MB /sec if from Microsoft downloads. |

People are still getting 20-25 then on the High Speed package?? |
Because the speedtest.net file is less than 10MB, it uses powerboost for the whole thing. So basically, speedtest.net is useless for Shaw users. Plus it's testing on a Shaw server anyway, so of course you are going to get the absolute fastest speed possible. |

holy shit, u guys must download a lot im on telus, and i get like 2.79 down, 0.69 up. |

just a question, for those using shaw, did u guys do the test once and post the results? or did u guys did multiple tests then post the results? cause u guys realize if u do it once, its not ur true speed right? |
