That gif just overshadowed the 1Ds Mark IVs debut. Its epic beyond belief.

yea not bad for a crop body... yep that's right, the 1D mkIV is now a 1.3 crop.

So it is, my bad. I always thought the 1D was FF. So I guess for now only the 5D mkII is FF then until the 1Ds shows up?

Well you can still buy the 1DS mk3 new, it doesn't make it any less of a camera. But yes, they usually release the S line after the regular 1D

The 1Ds mkIII has been totally eclipsed by the 5dmkII and 7D in almost every area except for durability. Unless you're a pro whose 1Ds mkIII died and you really need a pro body for a shoot, there's no reason to buy one, IMO. I don't like the 1Ds mkIII at all. As soon as we get a mkIV in, I'll try it out, as this one looks promising.

For what I normally see you shoot, I don't know why you would use the 1Ds? do you guys have the 1D III as a rental/loaner? it would seem more useful to you?

Yeah, I thought so, but it's a 10MP 1.3 crop. I'd rather use a D3x or 1Ds mkIII, as I don't really need 10 fps - I'd rather have the higher resolution @ 8 fps.

Isnt it a 16mp body not 10??

canon should just get rid of the crop on the 1d bodies.

^^ Senna was talking about the 1D MKIII that 77civic1200 asked about for rentals.
