Where do they sell Arcteryx? But, NOT at Coast Mountain

I'm looking to try on Arcteryx Jackets.
Mostly the Insulated Water Proof ones.

I want to buy them online since it is cheaper. But, I need to try it on before I drop $300-400.

Sport Chek/Coast Mountain only has a very limited number of Arcteryx jackets. So are there any other places with a bigger selection? Thanks!!!

I need somewhere soon.

They just had a factory sale in North Van.

But they main headquarter / store is in North Van.

If you get it online only get it from miltary supplies stores, since there are lesser chance of fakes and they now supplies the US military.

lol, you wanna try on jackets that you're going to buy online...

people in the local retail industry must hate you XD

I suggest arc'teryx hookups, you gotta know someone if you're in vancouvr, that's how so many people get fired from there... they hook too many people up with 70% off, i know that's how i got like 4 of my jackets, some with that crazy geo-tagging stuff incase you get trapped in an avalanche... XD

Please don't use local businesses as fitting rooms. Thanks.

Valhalla Pure Outfitters, it's near MEC

I find it hard to believe that if I can save a couple hundred of dollars.. I wouldn't?
Yeah, fuck it. I'll pay $475 + 12% = $532 locally, when I can get the exact same jacket from an authorized online dealer for $356 CAD, shipped. And that's including duty.

I hate people like you who think they are so righteous. When in fact there are tonnes of things in your life which are morally wrong.

I do know a guy actually, but he's tapped out at the moment. His dad works at the warehouse. I assume that he has gotten the discount for people too many times? He told me he got a $550 jacket for about $180.

And I don't want to wait for a deal that might never come to me so this is the best I can do.

Gh0stRider 10-20-2009 12:04 PM

i do the same. try on locally and buy online.

At least ask them if they are willing to come close to the online prices you found. They might not match it but they might make it close enough that it's not worth your time to buy it online or elsewhere.

i use backcountry.com.
they have pretty good clearance stuff on a regular basis. you just have to check it often.

but i'm going to wait until blackfriday. nov 26th i think? i'm sure they'll have a really good sale.

also, you can get 4% cashback if you buy from backcountry.com.
PM me for more details.

I never thought of that, but i'll definitely consider that. i'll wait until black friday though. since i know there should be some pretty good deals on that day

which jacket are you getting? I am looking for a hardshell, preferably a gore-tex one :D Arcteryx has like 100 jackets to choose from, too confusing lol. :D

Death2Theft 10-31-2009 10:59 PM

Can you buy stuff for online prices at the arcteryx store in n.van? I want some 400 pants but back country has them for 350 not worth the hassle i'd rather pay 400 and get them in canada.

i'm getting theta ar jacket.

ar jacket is a little longer then the beta line... and they are better than the alpha series imo.the pockets of the theta series is the best...

I bought a Arc'Teryx Atom AR jacket for 225 CAD +tax this week (retail) from Coast Mountain. Backcountry charges 200 USD + duties + shipping which turns out to cost more than if I just picked it up at the store.

I want to buy one of their more expensive jackets and save some money but it doesn't seem possible. :(

ctsport 11-01-2009 04:37 AM

I also think the fact that Arc'teryx doesn't have a online store sucks because all the online retailers (in Canada at least) have such poor selection. :(

Also for those wanting to buy Arc'teryx stuff online, don't buy from Altitude-Sports (Montreal). They have a really good selection but their customer service is horrible! The first time I ordered something from them, it took them 2+weeks to ship, so it was almost a month before I got my order lol (they state on their website that it takes a maximum of 2 days to ship LOL). The second time I ordered something, it took them over a week to tell me one of my items is out of stock LOL! Needless to say, I cancel my order and will not be going back.

For those wanting to buy from a Canadian online store, Sportinglife.ca (Toronto) is awesome! The 2 times I bought from them, they ship the same day! They also include a return packing slip just in case you want to return something. This way, it only cost me 10 dollars for shipping a return item, whereas if i had to go through CanadaPost (the cheapest), it would cost like 30+ bux! :D

The theta looks like a great jacket, but 600 bux (w/ tax) and not even insulated? :( I think my old Gore-Tex hardshell from MEC was like <400?

TNF has many jackets that have similar features (just w/o the over-rated Gore-Tex) and insulated with Primoloft One for like 400 bux! :p
