Posting for a friend, she's looking for her first car, has $5k to spend but less is better, nothing over $5k
must be automatic
4+ seats
Japanese (no VWs or americans)
in good shape mechanicly
Good tires are a plus
high mileage and poor cosmetics are okay and expected at this price level.

1996 Infiniti I30
194k runs strong, no leaks or weird noises
Automatic
Fully loaded with everything working: Leather interior, auto climate control, heated seats, sunroof (no leak) A/C, front seats are both power (electronic),
day-night rearview mirror, original BOSE sound system (all speakers work)...power windows, mirrrors, locks, cruise control etc
Tires will easly make it through the winter - they are about 60%
In conclusion, this is a car that has it all and everything works.
Front brakes will be taken care of this coming up Saturday and the car will be ready to go.
