illegally parking is not the smartest thing to do right now..

I think that's the reason why i'm seeing at least 3-4 ticket police biking around on every delivery i go....(so many of them starting from september, never see so many...)

no man. domino they make u sign a contract. i have friend work there it's all starting @ 7.00, i have one friend work for 2-3 years now he's making whopping 7.25. and you get pay 0.50 per delivery for gas but the thing is they charge customer 2.50 per delivery.... (the company i work at pays $1.00 per delivery) If u make pizza it start at 9 and up to 11-12. but the delivery driver get pay in cash at end of night.

Unless they state that in your contract.

Why would they pay for your mistakes? because you are too lazy to park a block or two away you decide to park illegally or you don't may the $.25 for the 5 mins you need?

And, this guy is probably getting paid under the table which is why he gets paid $7.50 an hour.

But if you're getting paid that little you might as well just get paid $8 an hour and pay tax and at the end of the year i'm sure you'll be under $17k or whatever the tax free shit is and get your money back?

no man i only park in backalley, passenger zone and loading zone. they are now giving ticket for parking in back alleys which sucks big time. Delivery boy don't mind walk 2-3blocks but the thing is sometime is busy u have to deliver on time or u get people calling asking for free pizza and u get yells for being slow. haha this job is shitting that's why i need to finish my education. sigh

They will tow you, so I would pay it. BTW If you ever see a dude giving you a ticket, and they say its too late Ive already printed it. It's BS, they can cancel it on the spot. Their just being assholes, so treat them nice. They might cancel it for you.

That's a private lot so those are enforced by private douche bag companies like Diamond, Impark, etc...

Do a search as that topic has been covered to death already. Most people just ignore them but that's up to you.

Have your cheapass employers buck up to buy you a commercial vehicle decal.

Municipal Vehicle Licence - (Municipal Decals)
The City of Vancouver under the Municipal Act, is a participant municipality, in the imposition and collection of fees and issuance of Municipal Vehicle Licences, a required decal by the Province of British Columbia.

Any vehicle operating as a commercial vehicle under the Commercial Transport Act or a vehicle used for the collection or delivery, or both, of merchandise or other commodity in the ordinary course of business, is required to obtain a Municipal decal.

To obtain a Municipal decal, the vehicle owner/operator must apply in person at the Licence Office with the current Vehicle ICBC Insurance papers. The vehicle must be insured for business use. After a decal has been issued, replacement or transfer decals can be purchased for a reduced rate, where proof of purchase is provided.

If you are purchasing 6 or more municipal decals, you must complete the “Commercial Vehicle Fleet Form” below and submit it with current copies of Vehicle Registration for each vehicle in person or by fax at 604.871.6394. Please include a contact name and telephone number on the Commercial Vehicle Fleet form and you will be contacted when the decals are ready for pickup.

The fee for a Municipal Decal ranges from $25 to $40, depending on the weight of the vehicle (GVW) which can be obtained from your Vehicle Registration (ICBC papers). The Municipal decal expires annually on December 31st and fees will not be pro-rated.

Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) Fee
0 - 2800 kgs
2801 kgs - 11800 kgs
11801 kgs - 20000 kgs
20001 kgs and over $25.00
$30.00
$35.00
$40.00

The fee for a replacement or transfer of a Municipal Decal is $6.25. To qualify for a replacement decal, you must bring in and return your previous decal to us and provide us with the ICBC Insurance papers for the new vehicle. The name(s) insured on the new vehicle must match the name(s) insured for the previous vehicle.

I can't stand how the employers of entry level jobs take advantage of their employees like that.
My work pays for all work related parking tickets.

Pocakj 10-22-2009 03:09 PM

I had a friend who disputed the ticket, but pled guilty at court and reason being "he could not afford the tickets at the time". A $300 ticket turned into a $90 ticket.
