There are a lot of severe side effects associated with vaccines (of all sorts). It's important for people to learn as much as possible before taking any drug and not to rely solely on doctors. (Think: many doctors and medical researchers are paid/supported by big pharma and doctors don't make money from healthy patients)

there is other cases of stuff like this occuring, its happened from flu shots, and vaccines.

wtf.. my last flu shot was over 10 years ago, and I was supposed to take 3 within 3 weeks. I only took 1. If your body can fight it, then let it. I thought i was going to laugh, but this is actually kinda sad.

if you work in the healthcare sector you don't really have a choice. yes, you can choose not to get the shot but if there's a outbreak of flu in your facility (hospital, residential care, etc) then the employer can ban you from work until:

a) you get the shot
b) the outbreak ends

i got my flu shot for the first time in my adult life last year and i ended up not getting the flu at all. as for pre-screening, you are asked a few questions and they do monitor you if it's your first time. however, this is only for 15 mins to make sure you don't have some adverse reaction, after that it's out of their hands.

It would make sense for healthcare workers to get the flu shots. I think UK is immunizing their hospital workers first against the H1N1 right now.
