What's with all the accidents today?

Went to lunch around 2:30 and was in the restaurant eating and spotted an accident outside (kingsway and windsor st) apparently a red corolla rear-ended a dodge then both exchanged insurance info and saw the cops stopped to see what's going on.

Going back home before 41st and earles) saw another accident, this one is a corolla and an suv. corolla has the whole front bumper ripped off and there was an ambulance and an undercover car.

My hunch is ppl can't drive in the rain? Or maybe talking on the cell phone while driving? But this is vancouver, ppl should get used to driving in the rain.

murd0c 10-23-2009 03:06 PM

it's the rain and people tailgateing and not knowing how to drive.

CP.AR 10-23-2009 03:16 PM

it's C-Lai day today.

hal0g0dv2 10-23-2009 03:17 PM

rain down in Africa

raygunpk 10-23-2009 03:28 PM

if people in vancouver were used to the rain they would stop complaining

JSALES 10-23-2009 03:57 PM

were they chinese drivers? haha

-EuroRSN- 10-23-2009 03:58 PM

hirevtuner 10-23-2009 04:07 PM

the first one was a white guy rear-ended a flip lady
don't know about the second accident

hope I don't see anymore when I go out tonite

1st rain in a long time, vancouver drivers forget how to drive in the rain after prolong periods of sun. When snow comes it'll be awesome.

i hope when it snows that no stupid guy will rear end my car because he won't be able to stop

I witnessed a near-accident today in Surrey... guy turning right didn't see the pedestrian crossing... almost ran that dude over!

JulyZerg 10-23-2009 05:04 PM

Roads are pretty slippery outside but it should be fine

jtanner_ 10-23-2009 05:25 PM

u damn right idiots cant drive in the rain, not knowing leave bigger distance in between cars instead tailgating the fuck out of each other.

Sounds like a great outcome

Sweeet cant wait for snow. I enjoy watching the corollas take on hills and sliding down then giving the wtf face cause they cant and never will make it up those hills.

I love watching expensive SUVs on summer tires trying to climb a hill when it snows, yet going no where and giving the most dissastisfied look and wondering how can the almight AWD not be worlking.

tonyvu 10-23-2009 05:45 PM

Vancouver drivers + rain does not mix, which is sad

illicitstylz 10-23-2009 05:55 PM

with the bad rain today and dark overcast, so many drivers (coming out of richmond) didn't have any of their lights on ( drl's are on of course)

absolutely moronic.

LenovoTurbo 10-23-2009 07:48 PM

My car was hit on left front fender and left door today. ICBC inspection on Tuesday. :(

I am wondering when it is considered total loss, do i get to take my aftermarket parts back (lip, wheels, etc)?

Or do they take the vehicle on the spot right there?

ImportPsycho 10-23-2009 07:50 PM

one would think that with amount of rain we get, vancouver drivers would be wicked at driving on wet road but no.... fking noobs

like my neighbor down the street that owns a X5. She refused to join in the collective snow shovelling party, and laughed at us for owning "inferior Hondas and Toyotas"
She got stuck the next day. I pointed and lawled, all while pulling out of my driveway in my humble '93 Corolla:haha:

Spotted a taxi van wrapped around a telephone poll on Granville St last night. Went into downtown and I spotted a Lexus with the entire right side smashed.

i remember you posted that story. fuckin made me laugh

yea i dont get what the deal is with vancouver drivers. it's one to slow down in the rain, it's common sense. but to slow down to half of the posted limit and brake at random occasions... raises an eyebrow.

Qmx323 10-24-2009 12:23 AM

on the way to point roberts today it was fuckin hell, fog, heavy rain, and high winds made the whole trip there pretty shitty

FeistyBearH22a 10-24-2009 01:29 AM

Its the rain + leaves on the ground. Makes for very slippery roads. Drive safe people.
