ajax 10-23-2009 10:03 PM

WTF! $64 000?!

orange7 10-23-2009 10:09 PM

20 units X $64000 = $1280000

cococly 10-23-2009 10:43 PM

^1.3 Mil?

They aren't making much profit at all.

Honda could do the same thing on our si as well, perhaps.

twitchyzero 10-23-2009 10:52 PM

i can never get looked to seeing that CTR..too ugly
64k sounds reasonable for only 20 units tho

shenmecar 10-23-2009 10:56 PM

Watch them raising the production limit to 50. 20 is too little. Thats only 1.3Mill. Im sure a lot of people would want to buy one if they are true Honda fanatics.

orange7 10-23-2009 11:25 PM

you guys missed my point~

i was trying to state that Honda should just mass reproduce it as the next gen for the si, and lower the price down to $25000.
So in the end they will make the same amount of money, except the car wouldn't be as exclusive.

Toeknee 10-24-2009 12:26 AM

Even if only 5 exists in the world I wouldn't buy that crap for $64000

Direct conversion is never accurate to the true cost of a car if it were to be brought here from UK. But no, I don't think a lot of people would pay 64k for a civic...

If i were a multi-millionaire I WOULD buy a mugenRR (civic) because that's a decent looking car that's not bad on the tracks given that it's only a FWD...

But that Mugen FN2... no thanks to its looks, no thanks to the primitive suspension. Regular FN2's power is on par with USDM SI, and 10% more torque than that isn't worth $64000... or w/e the conversion

Just IMHO

lol.. you got my all wrong..
I meant to say, if i'm a multimillionair I would buy it plus other cars such as the Mugen FN2, ferrari, etc. etc...

skyxx 10-24-2009 12:55 AM

Wrong. The world will buy anything as long as it's marketed as exclusive and special....

jaretron 10-24-2009 01:09 AM

price aside, I would love to own this car.

Qmx323 10-24-2009 01:12 AM

^^ Mmhmm it looks sleek and the 237hp in a light car doesnt hurt either... although its fwd

It's easily the most expensive Civic yet, costs a wallet-withering £38,599 and in one sense is an absolute bargain.
Why? Because each of these tuned 240bhp Type Rs costs about £190,000 to build, netting creator Mugen a £150,000 loss for every example sold. Which makes it easier to understand why there will only be 20.
Price/availability: £38,599/On sale spring 2010.
Tested: Honda Civic Type R Mugen
Power/torque: 240bhp/156lb ft
Top speed: more than 140mph
Acceleration: 0-62mph in 7.0sec approx
Fuel economy (Urban): N/A

man the normal 'euro' spec civic are a dime a dozen here in the uk. they're so much better than the ones we have in north america. Why cant we get those there? bumper laws? the ones we have there looks like a pos compared to these

RabidRat 10-25-2009 01:30 PM

nevermind the $64,000 price tag, I'd like to know what they did that cost them $326,000 to build this car!!!!!

edit: looking further into this article, they spent $33,000 building the motor for...... a 40hp increase on a K20. wtf are these idiots doing?! and that's only 10% of what they spent!

twitchyzero 10-25-2009 03:56 PM

^they probably included all the labour costs..still 33k is retarded
