Eat less simple carbs with high glycemic indexes.

Storebought muffins are FULL of sugar.

Did you make the smoothie yourself? If so use less sugar.

what he said. soft drinks also have high sugar. i usually just have cereal and a protein shake in the morning with plain bread sometimes... or add an egg instead of shake. the protein will provide you a sense of satiety (feeling full).

for snacks i have a low glycemic bar...like solo bar instead of candy

exercise will reduce your sugar levels overall in the long run, but i doubt that is your problem unless you're diabetic.

Eat less (or no) sugar. You must have ingested like a quarter pound of sugar in that meal, it's no wonder you crashed so bad!

Breakfast is one of the few modern western meals that is still typically healthy - lots of fat and protein, but not much sugar. If you eat a typical breakfast (with ham, bacon, sausage, eggs, and a bit of toast) you will have enough energy to last half the day, and won't have to worry about crashing. On top of that, if you eat like that for all of your meals each day, your cholesterol levels will improve and you'll probably lose weight as well.
