Parking ticket - 1st one free

I've read about this in other threads, yet searched and cannot find the exact details.

Got my first parking ticket last night and would love to use this freebie if it does exist.

Stopped at Noodle Box on 4th Sun evening, didn't realize it was 7days/week not Mon-Sat like further west on 4th where I live. I hope the officers that were behind me while I was parking, parked infront of me, then came into Noodle Box to eat didn't give me the ticket. I would've been nicer if they had just reminded me I had to pay instead.

If it's a parking meter, then you get one free one. You just contact Vancouver city hall. If it's a no stopping or some other infraction, then I don't think you get a free one.

There should be a number on the ticket, call it and say you want to cash in your freebie.

I did that for a parking ticket where I forgot to feed the meter. I believe you get 1 per license plate. They record your name too, IIRC.

never got a parking ticket from city *knock on wood*
but i got tickets from private parking like diamond or impark but never bothered to pay them

Must not have any outstanding tickets and they do look up history to see if you got one before for the plate. Even with that said it's up to them to give it to you. Just because you meet all the requirements it doesn't mean they are required to give you a freebie.

and it's once per plate. I've had 3 plates in 2 years and a free one on each.
