Found the VW interior setup! Pretty sweet. I still prefer Chilicoke's but this one is just crazy!

might as well buy invest in something like this:

would've been cooler if the screen was in the windshield haha.

Fanatec never replied my calls or emails in regards to setting up a vendor account. Fuckers.

Got my Playseats Evolution! It's pretty bad ass! I really recommend it if one has the funds and space in their room/home. You will not be disappointed. I went to FedEx depo today in Bellingham cause the mailbox I get my stuff shipped to was closed. Got home right at 3pm, had all of the gear set up and ready to go just a little bit after 4pm and I just stopped playing GT5P and NFS:Shift.
Got it from Amazon.com and paid $329 USD after WA taxes. If you want the gearshift accessory it's an extra $47 USD.
Get it from amazon.com or smoketronics.com when they have it in stock that is.
After all said and done... I say it's totally worth it. unless you have time, money and space to built a custom one like chilicoke did then go for it!

EDIT:

Forgot to mention... For those of you who do not have a lot of space the Playseats Evolution is really convenient. It's all adjustable and can be taken apart relatively quickly (if needed). The seat even folds and I'm surprised how comfortable it is. I wasn't expecting it to be that comfy. So if you have some room in your closet or something you can most likely get it to fit in there depending on how much space you have. My room is about 100 square feet and my Playseat Evolution is about 51 inches long right now and that's extended out it just a bit.
The Evolution was designed for the Logitech G25 as all the holes line up perfectly when mounting the pedals, wheel and gearshift mount. Even provides you the proper screws for it. Basically GO GET IT! hah.

You'll have plenty of time since gt5 wont be coming out for a while:haha:

twitchyzero 01-14-2010 09:01 AM

^ moot point he's selling his wheel on BST :lol

Cman333 01-14-2010 04:03 PM

LOL busted.

Selling mine to buy the Fanatec one + stand later. Need something for Forza and the MS wheel looks pretty nasty.

Now if only they'll answer their emails. I'm kinda skeptical if a company doesn't reply emails/calls how do they WARRANTY anything?

I lost hope for the release date, bad enough to the point where everytime I turn on my PS3, there's always a firmware update:haha:

Smoketronics.com sells G25's

http://smoketronics.com/p30/Logitech...duct_info.html

I'm sure you can find some on eBay as well and maybe amazon.com
The newest one is G27.

Yea I hope the release date for GT5 will be soon.

Hondaracer 01-15-2010 04:06 PM

Where ever you decide to get it from you won't be disappointed but if you don't have one already, make or buy a racing cockpit thingy if you are able to. Like I've mentioned before, the Playseats Evolution with the G25 is awesome! Hah.

Hondaracer 01-15-2010 08:46 PM

Yea I already have a racing seat and am going to be building a frame out of wood

apparently the edge of the g25 over g27 is that you can still use "tiptronic" on the H-gear shifter...

how the hell does taht work? Gear 3 is (-) and Gear 4 is (+)?

J____ 01-16-2010 04:13 PM

^^^ yes

twitchyzero 01-16-2010 06:49 PM

i guess that's only applicable in older racing sims then? I mostly have new ones and dont know where to enable that option..but it came default like that in GT4 (i guess they didn't invite 6-shift wheels back then)

pretty silly anyways because say if you shift down the shifter will stay there...it wont pop back to center position.

n3w8ie-aler 01-17-2010 05:46 PM

i just got the g27 recently. its pretty good but i was hoping the shifter would have more of a solid feel

Make sure when shifting gears you don't slam through them. I've heard of lots of people breaking their shifters due to aggressive shifting.

european 01-17-2010 09:49 PM

In the worst case you can buy a G25 gear box replacement as they might be interchangeable. $40 from smoketronics.com

Or the cheaper way out is to modify the shift stick like I did on my G25. Installed a rubber o-ring under the shift stick and a spacer for the locking position spring. Not sure if you can do this with the G27 but once again I wouldn't be surprised if you can.

twitchyzero 01-17-2010 10:47 PM

reviews saying shifter from g25 is not interchangable with the new ones.

stupid if you ask me

and they should've just kept the g25 name for this...this is more like a revision 2 like what they do on many logitech products

.Renn.Sport 01-17-2010 11:25 PM

they removed the sequential shift on the G27 for higher reliability

DuhDang 01-18-2010 03:27 AM

anyone use the fanatec porsche wheels before?

european 02-03-2010 06:46 PM

My setup!
Flipped the G25 pedals, modified the shift stick and installed a MOMO Race steering wheel!
