Id say its based on genetics and culture..
You know why most of china is skinny? cause 1) there standards arent as high/laxed as canada/america .. 2) half there pop is practiaclly starving or barely getting by 3) When your poor u know what they buy to eat?? probably rice and shit!
Canada/America - high standards, your poor? u got wel-fare money + food banks .. You know what we buy when were poor?? Instant noodles/junk foods like Mac and cheese or other shit with high sodium / high fat..

But seriously it is combination of various nutritional, genetic and environmental factors that is not easily explained by any one explanation (ie soley on diet). Anyone proposing as such is probably bases his or her's data on conjecture alone.

asians have no concept of nutrition like white people have... ie calories, how many grams of fat / carbs / protein is in w.e or going to the gym plus traditionally asians just consume less calories, lots of rice = less room for calories
