Winxp - BSOD @ startup. How to repair it?

It won't boot into winxp, but win7 is fine.

It says "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL ....0000000a (0x00000000, 0x0000001c, 0x00000001, 0x804FB03c)"

What is the easiest way to repair all the system files/drivers without formatting?

My winxp disc doesn't have repair function, and I tried the Windows Recovery Console ISO on mininova.org...no luck. I looked up on google, it says I need the winxp recovery disc???

Please tell me what I should do?

So you installed win7 on a computer that already had xp? Did you want to dual boot or just have win7. Because you might have just wiped out xp when you installed win7, depending on how you went about installing it.

You're trying to dual boot Windows XP? With an OS that already has XP Mode virtualization?

well clearly you need to reduce your IRQL. get that fatty on a diet.

jokes aside if it won't boot then something in the boot sequence/sector got screwed along the line, was the immediately after you added 7?

It has nothing to do with win7. Win 7 was installed last month, winxp was fine until yesterday I gets BSOD while checking email.

Now I can't boot into winxp no matter what.

I have tried removing all the drives and PCI cards...still no luck.
It's not difficult to format the partition, but I don't want to re-install winxp again, it takes me a lot of time to customize it.

Some people on google says winxp repair thingie will reinstall the system files, but the original setting remains. Just wonder how it is done.

so does this enable execution of xp apps from an already deployed xp environment? if not then maybe the OP wanted something to fall back on hence the dual boot

Stop: 0x0000000A (parameter1, parameter2, parameter3, parameter4)
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
Cause
This Stop error message usually occurs during installation when there was an attempt in kernel mode to touch pageable memory at too high a process internal request level (IRQL). Typically, this error occurs when a driver uses an incorrect memory address. Other possible causes of this error include an incompatible device driver, a general hardware problem, or incompatible software.

Resolution
When this Stop error message occurs, first try to resolve the issue by using the Windows Error Reporting tool that is automatically displayed when any error occurs. The Reporting tool sends an error report to Microsoft, and reports a fix or a workaround back to you immediately. If no fix or workaround is available, or if the fix or workaround reported by the tool does not resolve the error, then follow the methods in the "Advanced Troubleshooting" section.

It's morning time and I don't understand what is Xp mode virtualization.

Partition 1: WINXP
Partition 2: WIN7

If I remember correctly, winxp was installed first, then win7

1) Get rid of XP. You don't need it.
2) If you actually think you do need it, run a VM, downloaded from the link I posted

it is ideal to have different operating systems on separate drives.

Go into safe mode if you can, and remove all drivers it tries to load. Chipset drivers, sound card, everything.

Also, try removing all extra hardware, including any integrated devices on the motherboard (sound card, etc)

I can't boot into safe mode, that's the biggest problem. Any idea how to do it on the Win7 side.

I've removed almost everything except the videocard. =/

why don't you explain WHY you need to get into XP and maybe someone else has a different way of getting what you want.

there are few programs installed in winxp, so I can work remotely at home.
I never knew winxp was that unreliable.

if that's all you need, then just reinstall them in 7. if it's for you to connect to office work shouldn't your companies tech guys be able to reinstall them and do all the settings for you? either that or if you can access the partition from 7 you might be able to run them that way.

if it's only a remote desktop program (RDP, VPN, UVNC, PCAnywhere) why not
Install Logmein at your work computer if you are allowed to
or why don't you just get the programs re installed?
