single player only like mass effect

unlike mass effect each play through is atleast 50 hours, and there are multiple very different origin stories.

I'm getting this. Good way to spend time while waiting for MW2

Jet 11-03-2009 06:07 PM

Should I get this for PC or console ... anyone have any insight on which is the better play ...

Jmac 11-03-2009 06:21 PM

No idea, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say 360 ... It seems developers have no idea how to program for PC anymore ...

If, by some miracle, it's programmed well, I'd go w/ PC ...

SkinnyPupp 11-03-2009 06:29 PM

Ths game is hard fucking core.

Definitely get it for PC though, if you can.

Jet 11-03-2009 07:27 PM

After reading some reviews on this game, sounds like its coming from BG fame so I'm going with PC on this game ... can't wait to get it ...

Cman333 11-03-2009 10:28 PM

Hope this isn't as hard as Demon's Souls for PS3. That shit drove me nuts after 1 hour.

Also hated that ragdoll effect from corpses.

It's hard, not stupid. So don't worry ;)

just curious to why you guys say to get it for PC instead of console?

Because it's a PC game

From the 1Up review:

Console versus PC

Playing on the PS3 after finishing the PC version, I felt hamstrung by the console interface. In combat, it replaces the expandable ability bar and hotkeys by mapping spells and abilities to the face buttons. You get two sets of commands and can alternate between them with R2 (or right bumper for the 360).

To assign these skills and access other commands, players may use L2 (or the left bumper) to call up a radial menu (first seen in BioWare's PC RPG Neverwinter Nights). The console interface compensates for the fewer options by adding a quick heal button -- you can adjust it to automatically pick the most appropriate healing poultice for your character's HP situation.

Tactical combat is sadly stripped down for the consoles. In the PC version, you may use a handy top-down viewpoint of the battlefield. You can maneuver the camera above the characters on the console, but it doesn't scroll in and out. It's also more difficult to command characters to take specific positions on the battlefield, and I couldn't cast spells while paused. This really takes away from the combat -- it's a shame that console players again don't get the options that PC players enjoy. Console players aren't second-class citizens; they deserve the bells and whistles, too -- especially since they're paying $10 more for the game.

because its was designed for a pc and then ported to the consoles...

hotbar vs action wheeel (like in mass effect or ratchet on ps3)

pc looks better and has better controls.

VR6GTI 11-04-2009 10:45 AM

Yeah.. same.
I will play the new Diablo on PC.

Other than that game.. Gonna have to suck it up and get the dumb down version for 360

Jsunu 11-04-2009 11:45 AM

My PC is a POS, so im going to bite the bullet and buy the ps3 ver. hopefully it is 80% of what the PC game is.

SkinnyPupp 11-04-2009 07:44 PM

Yeah if your PC sucks, might as well get the console version I guess.

Man this game is hard, I had to set it to easy, and I still died once! Mostly because

Spoiler!

Jsunu 11-05-2009 08:15 AM

Dam the ps3 version is so laggy, dam might as well tried the pc instead. Oh well its a awesome expansive game regardless

Ch28 11-05-2009 08:54 AM

Great game!

I feel like there's more dialogue and cut scenes then actual gameplay hah! It's basically a medieval version of mass effect and I loved mass effect

SkinnyPupp 11-05-2009 10:43 AM

Actually, Mass Effect is a sci-fi version of Dragon Age/Baldur's Gate ;)

SkinnyPupp 11-05-2009 11:03 PM

This game literally owns me

q0192837465 11-06-2009 03:23 PM

wow, just started playing. I'm loving it.

striderblade 11-06-2009 05:07 PM

some part are really hard. I'm on the top of the tower and that big demon like thing is owning my ass. But this game is indeed beautiful if your system is capable of running it in high mode.
