I think my phones 100% dead. It won't turn on after leaving it for a couple days in rice. I was mistaken it wasn't water it was a drink with sugar :( I took the phone apart and it was all sticky inside.

This fucking sucks.

I tried to sync a second hotmail address and it is leaving me this message.

Action Required: Leave messages on the server.

If you use an email client ( e.g. Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, etc.) to access your hotmail.com messages, change your email client settings to leave your email messages on the server.

If the email client does not leave messages on the server, the BlackBerry Internet Service
may not be able to deliver them to your BlackBerry device.

anyone know a fix ????

since u have the phone apart, might as well rinse it under some warm water to clean off all the sticky stuff, then just let it dry for a few days and reassemble.
hopefully this "should" work.

It's normal for the trackpad to move a tiny bit. Most of them aren't rock solid.

thanks for your replies.. i really appreciate it!!!

but, i found this and it worked..
"Simply connect your BB with Desktop Manager, click on Backup / Restore > Advanced > remove Calendar under Device databases. If would suggest you to do a backup before doing the above."

everything is good now. thanks!

TheKingdom2000 05-07-2010 08:31 PM

also, does anyone know if there is a way to mark an email read over the server?

ie. if you read an email on your berry it will automatically update the server so if you log onto your email account over a computer it will be marked read..
currently, if i view an email on my berry and then log into my email the same email that i viewed on my berry is still marked "unread".
i've looked through the email settings but to no avail?

i probably over looked it or am not intuitive enough...

Thanks!

Its safe to use leaked os. I've been using mine for months now, and it works better than a official release, IMO.
Just make sure u do a backup before u do a install.

Experiment with various os versions and see which one works for you better.

I did what you said RX and it seemed to work. The battery is just dead and my screen looks pretty bad but I don't mind it. Keys and everything are good.

Anyone have a spare 9700 battery I can buy off of ya or know where I can get a cheap one?

buy it online, its cheap, and u can also get replacement screens too.

ForbiddenX 05-10-2010 03:44 PM

^Yea at first I didn't want to order it online since it'd take possibly 2 weeks to ship. I found a canadian seller selling it for $10 including shipping.

I'll probably hold off on getting the screen for a while, don't have that much money to spend :(

freelunch 05-10-2010 08:54 PM

jeedee 05-16-2010 07:47 PM

TheKingdom2000 05-17-2010 10:07 AM

no one that i've seen has white housing..
