Hey guys,

What site do you guys recommend me getting housing from? I ordered some from eBay, but they were just garbage. Bottom covers broke fast, top piece not being pre-installed to the bezel etc...I'm leaning towards sw-box or cnn.cn. Any past experiences would help,

Thanks!

jonwon 06-25-2010 06:04 PM

i was wondering if anyone else is having trouble connecting to their browser... it's been like this for the past few days, maybe i need to upgrade to the new official rogers OS? any input would be helpful, thanks.

Do you guys mind sharing how much you pay for your plans?

i was looking at the $50 plan but it doesnt have CID so $8 plus their stupid $2.58 Govermental regulation fee plus tax to be ~67

do you guys think its a fair price? I'm switching over from fido. thanks

Teh Doucher 06-27-2010 03:04 PM

what plan do you have with fido? if you have a better one, just buy the phone on craigslist unlocked and use it with fido.

distanc3 06-27-2010 03:07 PM

150 anytime
free evening + weekend at 7pm
free fido to fido (voice and text)
for 49.99 plus tax

apparently the $50 for the rogers plan (one with choose 1 or 4 options/500mb) is not unlimited incoming text which will cost me 15 cent for each text. =(

Gh0stRider 06-27-2010 04:27 PM

no data plan?

distanc3 06-27-2010 05:34 PM

I think i found an alternative. Wind mobile seems pretty good excluding the 6 month of half price plans.

$35
unlimited incoming text
50 out going text (10cents/ea after that)
unlimited province wide and wind-to-wind calls as long as you're in the zone
everything like caller id voice messaging
$10 - Unlimited social networking
=45 + tax = $50.40

:D

Mine shit the bed on me randomly today..

chipmunk604 06-27-2010 11:54 PM

$35 gets me:
200mins daytime
unlimited eve/wkd at 9pm (or could be 6pm)
unlimited text
vm3
1gb data

add on: cid $8
$43/month + taxes

i might ditch my berry for a iphone 4

Teh Doucher 06-28-2010 08:28 PM

^ i was thinking about that too, but theres nothing about that phone that makes me go WOW.. so, im just gonna keep the berry cause its easier to stay in touch with friends and womens.

Alpine50 07-04-2010 09:48 PM

How would you guys say the grower is, I'm still considering the 9700 or that new slider touchscreen one there making but my only concern is hows web browsing/facebook/revscene
Posted via RS Mobile

jeedee 07-05-2010 04:11 PM

If you do decide to get it, don't use the BlackBerry browser, use Opera Mini. Works perfect for browsing online / revscene.

For Facebook, DO NOT use the app from AppWorld. It's laggy as fuck, slow, and really shitty. If I were you, just use facebook on opera.

But other then that, the 9700 is the best phone i've ever had, good luck

Gh0stRider 07-05-2010 04:40 PM

The browser sucks

incubus 07-05-2010 07:22 PM

i guess il try opera mini too

not too happy with this phone :(

!Yaminashi 07-05-2010 07:25 PM

I'm not gonna lie my 9700 is the only phone that has completely satisfied my needs.
It does everything I want it to and does it well.

I know alot of import phones have tons of features too, but those cost upwards of $500 and a good handful of them dont even support NA 3g.

I've also noticed almost every manufacturer has been going the touchscreen route to battle with the iphone, I absolutely hate all touch screen phones.

Where are you guys downloading opera mini from? Straight from the mobile site? I read on crackberry there are some issues with downloading straight from there

incubus 07-05-2010 07:27 PM

yeah same here id prefer to have qwerty and touch :P

just wondering will the droid x work here? id hate to jump ship to iphone lol

Alpine50 07-05-2010 07:37 PM

I think I'm going to give the blackberry a go once I can get a phone upgrade, probably pick up the 9700 or the 9800 touch screen one but i guess which ever ones better or I like more I'll pick up. And if I hate it I'll pick up the new iPhone sometime

9700 no touchscreen, full keypad
9800 touchscreen, full keypad = best of both worlds

the full keyboard on the bb is what makes it just so much better since the speed and ease at which you can churn out emails and sms/bbm is unbelievable, all while looking very slick and professional.

Can anyone confirm this for me?
OS versions higher than .500, pressing * + send no longer unlocks the keypad?
Your only choice is pressing the top left lock button

Need some help from all you Opera Mini users, you guys know the 9 speed dial sites on the home page? How do you delete a site off of that speed dial? I can't figure it out for the life of me!

k2_alpha 07-08-2010 11:31 PM

press and hold the trackpad one you highlighted the desired speed dial icon

pressing and holding the trackpad is opera's version of the BB button
