woooot i'm going on this cruise! can't wait! :haha::haha:

no_mercy 11-04-2009 12:59 AM

i heard one of the reasons to go for bigger ship is because they generate greater revenue... sort of similar to commercial aircrafts where there is somewhat of a fixed cost associated with the crew.

oh the darn thing shouldn't sink because of ingenuity. They divide the spaces in the hull into section so in the event they have water coming into the ship, they seal off that section through doors to isolate that compartment.

And with the materials, titanic ripped open because the material was placed in cold water where the stress goes up and ductility goes down. so in another words, it would open like a can if something came gouged through it.

royal promenade is getting boring.. the boardwalk is what i want to see! =) GO RRCL!

im waiting to see a documentary on this down the road

Damn, thanks for posting this. I've been looking for pics/news of this event.

I wanna go on it one day!

If you've never been on a cruise ship before, the first time you step on board, it will blow you away. With so much stuff on board, it's hard to believe you're on a BOAT.

Hondaracer 11-04-2009 11:32 AM

It was built in Finland and when it had to sail out of the main channel between Sweden and Denmark supposidely there were only 10 feet between the top of the boat and the bottom of the bridge that connects the two nations lol

They also said that they had to go at a speed well above normal tow speeds so that the boat would be deeper in the water to achieve that 10 feet lol

btw, anyone think 1.2 bill sounds fairly lean? I mean this thing is fuckin massive and the cowboys new stadium was a similar price

shenmecar 11-04-2009 11:39 AM

The ship is frickin amazing, it feels more like a vegas hotel with indoor malls than a cruise ship... Some pics:

Entire cruise is complimentary from Royal Caribbean for all passengers (travel partners), so no revenue at all lost :P

shenmecar 11-25-2009 02:05 PM

Ahhh ok I thought this was her actual maiden voyage... Lucky you got the invitation to go! One of the perks from being in the travel industry I guess!
