Having a cell phone number, is there anyway...

you can look up the name and address of that person?

Got this person that's always calling my friends' cellphone, he left a message for her with his number and he ALWAYS calls with a private number...

Just wondering if we can find out more detail about this person and eventually do something about it.
any advice or suggestions?

Serious replies only please. thanks

There are some sites I found through google once. Can't remember what they are called, but it seems to be that they charge a membership. Around $25 a year for unlimited lookups I think.

GabAlmighty 11-03-2009 09:16 PM

try google, if he's dumb enough to post his numer in a thread you'll find it. There are ways, i've seen threads like this before on other forums and someone usually steps up:P

Personally, I dont know how to go about it. But someone does.

Sorry about the useless post

Wow i would like to know too, have a minor stalker problem atm. I check yellowpage and it doesn't have cell listing. Googled it and the number comes up when I want to look into it further the site only gives out the provider and approximate area no exact address or name unless you pay.

yeah, but are they worth it? they say it can show some phone records or something but i don't think whether it's a viable option of going about it.. it's like $35 for a year membership or something

It's your best bet.

I found a free site once, but it wasn't accurate.

All those sites a b/s imo. Even the free ones, they are so off. Cause I tried it on my number and a few others.

BD2002 11-03-2009 09:50 PM

Yea tried my number and it said Burnaby instead of Coquitlam. Even if it's close as in where in the province, it's not accurate enough to pay for IMO.

Not sure if you can do this on cell phone but can you change it so your phone will not accept calls from private name private number? You can do that with a landline for sure.

Yup

Do that and they'll give you a police file #

You record down the time and date of when this person calls. After 3 times you can call them back up (non-emergency number) and they'll go through your phone carrier and get the records. That's the only way the phone companies will release the records.

what's the number to call for the cops in this matter? Also, what does happen when the phone companies do release the records? Do cops help you do anything?

If these are harassing calls... some suggestions have already been made.

Or you could always submit the guy's number to some telemarketers and porn sites... maybe a couple fake hard-gay ads on CL...

Found this site 6 yrs ago... This is the site I used everytime, you can search name and address of the owner by their phone #

www.whitepages.ca

very accruate, but its residential or commercial only...

cell phone can not be traced, will only show the carrier i belived.

i used to work at fido, i wanted to find a prank caller who didn't block his number so bad that I tracked him down by trying the first 3 characters of postal codes in vancouver basically v1a, v1b... eveuntually i found him to be in coquitlam with a v3j or something

that was because i recognize the guy's number to be a fido number... you maybe able to do the same if you have a good friend at wireless waves or something

TOS'd 11-04-2009 09:23 AM
