Paint chipped and starting to rust :( Advice please?

Okay...long story how the body of the car is in this bad of a shape.
I'll post pics ASAP.

So I'm finally taking over my mom's car. The body is pretty uhh...messed. I got a lot of dents out myself. But my right fender's paint is pretty bad...It's the size of half my hand. It's like...GONE. It's down to bare metal. I got it "undented" but there's no paint. It's starting rust which isn't good. I don't know if I need to take it in at a body shop and get it buffed and repainted for that rust. It's not like the metal is gone..it's just tiny flakes of orange There's paint chips like....every where. I don't have a buffer so I won't be able to just "buff it out myself". I have NO CLUE what the heck to do.

Scratches ALL over the body which I can most likely rub some wax in.
Some are pretty deep so...I might need to get it professionally detailed.

Gah, I don't know what to do. I did a full forum search looking for ways to learn how to fix everything but I couldn't find anything related close to the damage of paint gone to mine haha.

Serious suggestions please?

Post pics so we can see just how bad it is. But for the rust you'll probably need to get that professionally taken care of

Yea, I'm at SFU at the moment and busy doing my homework which is due..soon haha. I'll get pics ASAP though. Most likely after class.

Is there any places you recommend? I checked out the RS partners already but I'm honestly clueless lolz.

Okay I updated with pictures...okay...maybe the rust isn't half my hand lolz. Excuse the dirty car. But like...it's just starting the rust which isn't cool. I bought some "Metal Polish" from Lordco...I don't know if that would remove the rust and just prevent it from...getting worse?

I got quoted at Starlite $700 to fix that...IMO I think that's a tad overpriced? I don't know...opinions? I thought it would've cost $500 max to fix that lolz.

$700 is nothing.

Metal Polish won't prevent further rust.

It looked like your car has been previously repainted (hence chipping off the bumper). In theory you can take it back to the original shop for a warranty repair, but the metal bit, you need to grind down to bare metal, prime and paint.. not to mention feather etc.

Sorry bud. You'll need a bodyshop to fix that.

To fix properly the rear bumper and tail light would have to be removed all the offending rust and surrounding area would have to be stripped away (metal polish would not do this it is for non ferrous metals) an abrasive medium would do the job. Then the repairs can take place and repainting. Depending on the condition of the surrounding paint it may be possible to "blend" the repair to prevent painting the whole rear quarter. $700 seems cheap if the damage exceeds what the pictures show or if the whole quarter needs painting. If you dont do it right the rust will bubble through the new paint in a year maybe less, and if you dont do it quick the damage will grow quite quickly and rust right through costing much more in the end.
This is a service we provide if your interested just call and set up an appointment for an estimate.
